At the IIFA 2024 event in Abu Dhabi, filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra made an exciting announcement—his next film, Zero Se Shuruwat, a prequel to the critically acclaimed and successful 12th Fail. The prequel is set to release on December 13 and will feature the same cast, including Vikrant Massey, who portrayed the lead role in 12th Fail. The original film, based on Anurag Pathak's book, tells the inspiring story of Manoj Kumar Sharma, a man who rose from poverty to become an IPS officer.

Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Approach to Awards While walking the IIFA red carpet alongside his wife, film critic Anupama Chopra, Vidhu Vinod Chopra candidly addressed questions about awards. When asked whether he would submit 12th Fail for the Oscars, the filmmaker replied, "I am not an award fellow. I'm here at IIFA because of my wife, Anupama. I'm actually just accompanying her today. For me, the most important thing—the real award—is when you make a film and, after watching it, you can either say, 'Ah, I nailed it,' or admit, 'That didn't quite work.'" 12th Fail: A Story of Resilience and Triumph 12th Fail, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and starring Vikrant Massey, received praise for its portrayal of Manoj Kumar Sharma’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming an IPS officer. The film not only focuses on his determination but also on the role his wife, Shraddha Joshi, played in his success. The production of Delhi Crime 3 has officially commenced, as per a report in Hindustan Times. The show features a stellar cast that includes Shefali Shah, Huma Qureshi, and Rasika Dugal. Following reports of Huma joining the ensemble, insiders have confirmed that filming began in Greater Noida about ten days ago. This marks a significant milestone for the series, which has garnered critical acclaim in its previous seasons.

Filming locations and schedule

According to Hindustan Times source, the decision to kick off shooting in the capital was deliberate. Although the initial plan was to start in early September, the team awaited Huma's availability. Currently, the cast is working on a variety of scenes, capturing dynamic shots in police stations, havelis, and local roads in Greater Noida. Notably, the previous seasons featured similar locations, which helps maintain continuity in the series’ gritty narrative. Following the Greater Noida schedule, the team plans to transition to various locations in Delhi for additional filming, with a shooting timeline of over two months.

New themes and storyline

As excitement builds for the upcoming season, it has been revealed that Delhi Crime 3 will tackle the pressing issue of human trafficking. This thematic shift promises to deepen the series' exploration of crime and societal challenges, aligning with the show’s reputation for tackling significant and relevant issues. Additionally, the makers plan to release the season in two parts, with the first instalment expected by mid-2025.

Govinda REACTS after misfire accident: “I was hit by a bullet, but it has been extracted”

Veteran Bollywood actor Govinda was rushed to a Mumbai hospital after suffering a bullet wound early this morning. The 60-year-old actor sustained the injury below his knee when his licensed revolver was accidentally discharged. The incident occurred around 4:45 am at his Juhu residence as he was preparing to leave for the airport to catch a flight to Kolkata for a scheduled performance.

According to his manager, Shashi Sinha, Govinda was alone at the time of the incident. He was placing his revolver in a cupboard when it slipped, causing the firearm to misfire and injure his leg. The actor immediately contacted his wife, Sunita Ahuja, who was in Kolkata, and his manager. Police were informed and quickly arrived at his home to transport him to Criticare Hospital, where he is currently being treated. Govinda’s Condition Stable, Fans Receive Reassurance Following the incident, Govinda recorded an audio message from his hospital bed, thanking his fans for their support and prayers. Speaking in a raspy voice, he said, “I was hit by a bullet, but it has been extracted. I thank the doctors here and your prayers.” The actor stated that the blessings of his fans, parents, and guru helped him during the ordeal.

Govinda’s manager assured the public that the actor’s condition is stable and that the injury, though concerning, was not life-threatening. "It is due to God's grace that Govinda ji sustained only a leg injury and it was nothing serious," Sinha said. Govinda’s daughter, Tina, is with him at the hospital, while his wife, Sunita Ahuja, is en route to Mumbai after learning about the incident. No Police Complaint Filed Despite the severity of the incident, Govinda has not filed any complaint with the police. Authorities have confirmed that the misfire was accidental and that no foul play is suspected. The actor, who also has a political role as a Shiv Sena leader, is expected to recover fully, thanks to timely medical intervention and the prayers of his supporters.
