Unrevealed facts on Dhurandhar: Aditya Dhar REVEALS entire budget and how both films combined became an 8-hour saga: "A scene that was meant to be for 10 seconds actually required 2 minutes"

The amount Aditya Dhar was spending per day on shooting Uri, he was spending almost 11 to 12 lakhs lesser than that every day on shooting Dhurandhar. As Aditya told me, it was insanity the way they have pulled off this film.

What is the cost of shooting the actual end product? How much did it cost? Aditya told me it's about Rs. 255 crores. Yes, both the films together cost a paltry Rs 255 crores to shoot. Originally, it was meant to be one film only. But an 8-hour film seemed out of the question. Hence, Dhurandhar was split into two.

The length increased as the film was being shot. Because Aditya realized that the small montages were turning into big, big scenes. And those big scenes were turning out to be highlights, one after the other. So, what to cut? Aditya explained to me, “A scene that was meant to be for say 10 seconds, it actually required two minutes.”

To take an example, there was the scene in which Major Iqbal is introduced. Arjun Rampal's character is introduced where he says that I want to buy guns. That was supposed to be two-and-a-half-minute scene. It eventually became eight-nine minutes long.

While Aditya had a water-tight script, the dialogues were enhanced on the sets. A lot of the banter which you hear in the film are actually what Aditya Dhar thought on the set on the day of the shooting.

But the end product is almost 95 to 96% close to the main script. The original script.  “And I'm very thorough with my script. I'm very thorough with my research,” said Aditya.

Almost the entire film was shot was by Aditya Dhar, with some assistance from a second unit. But all the main crucial sequences were shot by Aditya Dhar personally.

Hera Pheri 3 Row: Vijay Kumar claims ‘100 percent’ IP ownership amid legal battle with Firoz Nadiadwala

A legal tussle surrounding the Hera Pheri franchise has come into focus, with Vijay Kumar asserting complete ownership over the intellectual property, as his dispute with producer Firoz Nadiadwala continues in court.

In a candid interaction with Pinkvilla, Vijay Kumar laid out his stance on the matter, claiming that the rights to the franchise have always remained with his side. Addressing the ongoing case, he confirmed, “We have the total rights for Hera Pheri franchise clean and clear, everything. And guess what? This man did the second instalment without permission.”

According to Vijay, the issue dates back to the sequel itself. While a one-time remake right for the Hindi version was granted, he alleges that subsequent developments took place without consent. “We had only given a one-time remake right for the Hindi version. He made that, but then proceeded with a second film without our consent or knowledge,” he stated, adding that the matter was not pursued legally at the time.

The dispute intensified when plans for Hera Pheri 3 surfaced. Vijay revealed that repeated attempts to resolve the issue amicably did not yield results, prompting legal action. “When he attempted a third film, we issued a notice stating clearly that he has no rights, and even the second film was a violation,” he said. He further alleged that Nadiadwala attempted to transfer or sell the project, which led to the filing of an intellectual property rights case.

Providing an update on the legal proceedings, Vijay claimed that the court has already indicated its stance. “The court has made it very clear that the rights are with us, and we are confident of getting that order as well,” he said, while also accusing the opposing side of delaying the process through repeated adjournments and non-appearance.

Despite the ongoing dispute, Vijay acknowledged the commercial value of the franchise and did not rule out future collaborations once the matter is resolved. “Selling can only be considered after we sort things out with Nadiadwala. Once that is resolved, all options are open… because it is a prime brand,” he explained.

On the creative front, he emphasised that the original trio of Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty remains integral to the franchise’s identity, noting that retaining them “makes the most business sense in every way.”

For now, the fate of Hera Pheri 3 remains uncertain, hinging largely on the outcome of the legal proceedings, which Vijay believes will eventually conclude in his favour, even as delays continue to stall a final resolution.

Salman Khan’s father Salim Khan’s health takes a toll on his forthcoming project

Salman Khan breathed a sigh of relief when his father, Salim Khan, returned home from the hospital. However, the worst may not be over yet, as the Khan patriarch is still a long way from recovery.

A source very close to the family reveals, “In fact, Salim Saab is very, very unwell. At 92, full recovery from his neurological condition is unlikely. We can only hope for the best. The family is taking him home so he can be comfortable with his loved ones. Otherwise, it is pretty much a replay of what happened with Dharmendra some months ago. We are all praying and hoping for the best.”

A close friend of Salman Khan adds that the actor has taken his father’s health decline “very badly.”

“Salman is extremely upset. His equation with his father is well known to those close to the family. He is unable to focus on anything but his father’s health. And yet, he continues to work on Maatrabhumi, navigating post-production while visibly distressed—snapping, sulking, and struggling to stay composed.”

BREAKING: Dhurandhar The Revenge beats highly anticipated Hollywood film Ready Or Not 2 overseas; brings Bahar to Mumbai’s Bahar cinema

Dhurandhar The Revenge is unstoppable; the film was expected to break records, and yet, the trade and industry are stunned by how it's performing at the box office. And now, its dominance is being felt in the Overseas market as well, where it has managed to outgross a much-awaited Hollywood sequel.

According to a report in Deadline, Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, a highly anticipated sequel, opened with $9 million. On the other hand, Dhurandhar The Revenge collected a huge $10.5 million. Dhurandhar’s sequel was always set to open big, considering the response of the first part, which was released in December 2025. However, Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come, released by Fox Searclight Pictures, should have ideally opened bigger in foreign territories, considering the star cast (Sarah Michelle Gellar, Elijah Wood and Kathryn Newton). The fact that Dhurandhar The Revenge has gone past it only underlines the scale of its global craze.

Dhurandhar 2 brings Bahar to Bahar Cinema

Meanwhile, residents of Vile Parle East and Andheri East in Mumbai got a pleasant surprise as the popular Bahar Cinema will play four shows of Dhurandhar The Revenge on Sunday, March 22. This has never happened before since it commenced operations in November 2010.

According to an exhibition source, “Due to certain regulations of the commercial establishments in the cinema building, Bahar is allowed to play shows only after 5:00 pm. But with Dhurandhar The Revenge, they have made an exception. On Sunday, the film had four shows, at 8:00 am, 12:30 pm, 5:00 pm and 9:30 pm.”

Bollywood Hungama was the first one to report that Dhurandhar The Revenge’s post-midnight and early morning shows have been planned by several cinemas. As the film was released and went on a record-breaking spree, more theatres joined the bandwagon, probably for the first time. Kasturba Cinema in Malad hosted a 2:30 am show, while Woodland Cinemas in Virar, near Mumbai, arranged a 7:45 am screening on Sunday for eager moviegoers. Both shows were nearly sold out.

Dhurandhar The Revenge is produced by Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios and Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar of B62 Studios. It is written and directed by Aditya Dhar.

Delhi High Court moves to protect the personality rights of Sonakshi Sinha amid AI misuse concerns

The Delhi High Court on Friday indicated that it would issue an interim direction to safeguard the personality rights of Bollywood actor Sonakshi Sinha. The matter was heard by Justice Jyoti Singh, who was considering an application filed by the actor seeking an injunction against alleged misuse of her identity.

During the proceedings, the court asked for specific instances of infringement. In response, the counsel representing Sinha pointed to the unauthorised use of her persona and characteristics by certain AI chatbots. Taking note of the submission, the court directed the legal team to provide a soft copy of the alleged infringing links. It also permitted the filing of additional documents in a sealed cover within two days. The case has now been scheduled for further hearing on July 6.

This development follows a recent order by the same court granting protection to the personality rights of Ramdev, founder of Patanjali Ayurved, through a John Doe directive. Over time, coordinate benches of the High Court have passed similar rulings in favour of several public figures across fields.

Among those who have received such legal protection are singer Jubin Nautiyal, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar, and actors Kajol, R. Madhavan and N. T. Rama Rao Jr. Actor Salman Khan has also approached the court with a similar plea.

The High Court has, in separate cases, extended protection to spiritual leader Sri Sri Ravi Shankar of The Art of Living Foundation, Telugu actor Nagarjuna, as well as Bollywood actors Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and filmmaker Karan Johar.

In another recent instance, journalist Sudhir Chaudhary was granted relief after raising concerns over misleading AI-generated videos circulating online. Similarly, a John Doe order was issued in favour of podcaster Raj Shamani, with the court recognising his prominence in the digital content space.

Sonakshi Sinha, who made her Bollywood debut with Dabangg opposite Salman Khan, has since featured in several commercial and content-driven films including Rowdy Rathore, Mission Mangal with her recent success being in the web-series Heeramandi in which she essayed a double role. Known for balancing mainstream entertainers with performance-oriented roles, the actor has built a steady presence in the industry, making the protection of her identity and likeness increasingly significant in the evolving digital landscape.

Supreme Court quashes copyright case against Sujoy Ghosh over Kahaani 2, calls allegations baseless

In a significant relief for filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh, the Supreme Court of India has set aside criminal proceedings initiated against him in a copyright infringement case linked to his 2016 film Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh.

According to a report by Bar and Bench, a Bench comprising Justices PS Narasimha and Alok Aradhe observed that the complaint lacked substance and failed to establish even a basic comparison between the two works in question. The court noted that the allegations were vague and unsupported, with no clear indication of how the film resembled the complainant’s script.

The case stemmed from a complaint filed by Umesh Prasad Mehta, who alleged that his script titled Sabak had been copied for the film. He claimed to have shared his work with Ghosh in 2015. Acting on this complaint, a magistrate court in Hazaribagh had issued summons in 2018 under provisions of the Copyright Act. Later, the Jharkhand High Court declined to quash the case, stating that the matter warranted trial.

Ghosh subsequently moved the apex court, where his counsel, Senior Advocate Siddhartha Dave, argued that the complaint did not provide any material evidence demonstrating similarity between the scripts and that the proceedings were a misuse of legal process.

The Supreme Court agreed with these submissions, pointing out that both the magistrate’s summoning order and the High Court’s decision showed a lack of proper judicial consideration. It also highlighted that witness statements presented by the complainant did not establish that any part of the script had been copied.

A key factor in the ruling was the finding of the Screen Writers Association’s Dispute Settlement Committee, which had earlier concluded that there was no resemblance between the two works. The court noted that this crucial detail had not been disclosed to the magistrate at the time of issuing summons.

Additionally, the Bench underscored that Ghosh’s script for Kahaani 2 had been registered well before the complainant’s script was created, making the allegation of infringement untenable.

Reiterating that courts must guard against frivolous or malicious litigation, the apex court emphasized the need to examine surrounding circumstances in such cases to prevent misuse of criminal law. It ultimately set aside both the summoning order and the High Court’s ruling, bringing an end to the proceedings pending before the trial court.

The case was argued on behalf of Sujoy Ghosh by Senior Advocate Siddhartha Dave, assisted by a team of advocates. As for Ghosh’s 2016 thriller Kahaani 2: Durga Rani Singh, it is a Vidya Balan-led film that revolves around a woman living under an assumed identity while protecting a child, unfolding into a layered narrative of crime, abuse, and hidden pasts. Also starring Arjun Rampal and Jugal Hansraj in key roles, the film was expected to be a spiritual sequel to the 2012 blockbuster Kahaani.

SCOOP: Salman Khan aims to return to Eid with Dil Raju and Vamshi's action entertainer in 2027

Eid is synonymous with Salman Khan, as over the years, the superstar has played a major role in making the festival a lucrative period. While today, actors are reaping the benefits of the date, once upon a time, it was never considered to be a festive window for Hindi films. It's Wanted followed by Dabangg that changed the tide for the same. This year is going without a Salman Khan release, but reliable sources inform that the superstar is aiming at the festive period of Eid for his next feature film.

"Salman Khan is in talks with Dil Raju and Vamshi Padilpally to plan their schedules in a way that an Eid 2027 release becomes a reality. The producer - director duo is contemplating the option, and plan to get back to Salman with a plan soon," revealed a source to Bollywood Hungama. The source further informs that the film in question is an action-packed entertainer with a strong emotional core.

"It's a pure commercial entertainer with Salman Khan playing to the gallery. Vamshi plans to present Salman in a way audiences like to see him. The pre-production is going on in full swing, and the makers aim to take the film on floors in April," the source added.

The film will be shot all across the country starting in April, and there is ample VFX work involved. All the aspects are being looked at at the moment, before they decide on announcing. The film will, however, be released in the first half of 2027, and that's a promise made by the producer to Salman.

Madras High Court restrains illegal broadcast of Dhurandhar The Revenge till April 15

The Madras High Court on Wednesday passed an ad interim injunction restraining internet service providers and cable TV operators from unlawfully broadcasting Dhurandhar The Revenge ahead of its theatrical release on March 19, 2026.

Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy issued the order while hearing applications filed by Reliance Industries Limited and its media arm Jio Studios. The producers had approached the court seeking urgent protection against potential copyright infringement.

In its plea, Reliance alleged that several intermediaries, including internet service providers and cable TV operators, may illegally stream or transmit the film without authorisation. The company also submitted the certification issued by the Central Board of Film Certification, identifying it as the producer of the film.

The court noted that the film is scheduled for release on March 19 and observed that in such cases, the risk of irreparable harm is significant if interim relief is not granted. At the same time, it acknowledged that the respondents’ business interests could also be affected by such an order.

Balancing these considerations, the court directed Reliance to indemnify the respondents for any potential losses arising from the injunction. Subject to this condition, it restrained the respondents from unlawfully broadcasting or transmitting the film until April 15, 2026.

The court also issued notice to the respondents in the matter, which will next be heard on April 15.

Dhurandhar The Revenge, directed by Aditya Dhar, is a Hindi-language spy action thriller and a sequel to the 2025 film Dhurandhar. The film stars Ranveer Singh as an undercover operative navigating the criminal and political underworld. The cast also includes Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan and Arjun Rampal.

SCOOP: After Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi, Ayushmann Khurrana-Sharvari’s Yeh Prem Mol Liya likely to be renamed Yeh Prem Moh Maya Hai

A few days ago, the industry and fans got a surprise when it was announced that Salman Khan’s much-awaited next film, Battle Of Galwan, has been renamed Maatrubhumi. And now, as per the buzz in the trade, another awaited film might also go for a title change – Yeh Prem Mol Liya, directed by Sooraj Barjatya.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “There have been discussions over changing the title of the film to Yeh Prem Moh Maya Hai. If all goes well, the new title will be locked and will be announced officially in a few days.”

Yeh Prem Mol Liya stars Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari in the lead role, along with Shaad Randhawa, Anupam Kher, Seema Pahwa, and Supriya Pathak in pivotal roles. It is presented and produced by Rajshri Productions in association with Mahaveer Jain Films and Anita Gurnani. It marks the second association for Mahaveer Jain and Sooraj Barjatya after the acclaimed flick Uunchai (2022).

In December 2025, Shaad Randhawa, who left a mark with his performances in the 2025 sleeper successes, Saiyaara and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, revealed that he had bagged the film. In January this year, he exclusively told Bollywood Hungama, “It is a film that only Sooraj can make. It’s about family, values and romance. There’s dada ji, dadi ji, nani, bua – it’s that kind of a film (smiles). It touches upon relationships; I don’t think anybody knows relationships better than Sooraj ji. The film also tells a beautiful love story. I am sure everybody would be looking forward to the film because we have been missing that kind of film. We haven’t seen a family entertainer in the longest time.”

In February, we were the first ones to report that Ayushmann Khurrana and Sharvari shot for the film at Goregaon railway station in Mumbai. As per sources, the shoot, which started on November 1 last year, is about to wrap up soon.

EXCLUSIVE: It’s a wrap for Naagzilla; shoot of Kartik Aaryan’s much-awaited fantasy entertainer completed

Bollywood Hungama has been at the forefront of breaking news on Naagzilla. We now bring to you another major update: the shoot of the film has been completed.

A source told Bollywood Hungama, “March 16 was the final day of the shoot of Naagzilla. Lead actor Kartik Aaryan was not present as he had completed his portions a few days ago. Director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba shot with the other actors in Mumbai. There was jubilation on the sets when the director shouted, ‘Pack up’. At the same time, the unit was also disheartened to know that their adventurous journey has come to an end.”

The source added, “Now that the shoot is completed, Mrighdeep Singh Lamba’s complete focus would be on post-production and ensuring that their labour of love turns out to be an exciting and fascinating piece of cinema for the audiences.”

Naagzilla is produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain’s Mahaveer Jain Films. The fantasy comedy features Kartik as a shape-shifting naag and, reportedly, Ravi Kishan essays the role of the antagonist. Earlier this month, Bollywood Hungama reported that the talented actress Preity Mukhundhan, who has made a mark down South, will be launched in Bollywood with this film.

Naagzilla is scheduled to be released in cinemas on Independence Day 2026. It marks the first association of Kartik Aaryan and Mahaveer Jain, Mahaveer Jain and Karan Johar and the second film for Kartik and KJo after Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri (2025).

On February 1, Bollywood Hungama had carried a quote of a source who told us, “Mrighdeep Singh Lamba shot a month-long schedule in Mumbai with Kartik Aaryan in January 2026. Nora Fatehi – Sanjay Dutt Song Row: Rakshita questions ‘selective outrage’ as ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ controversy intensifies

The controversy surrounding the latest track ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ from KD: The Devil featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, continues to escalate, drawing sharp criticism over its explicit lyrics and suggestive choreography. The song has faced backlash from industry bodies and public figures, with the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) among those raising objections. Following complaints filed with the CBFC and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Hindi version of the track has since been taken down from YouTube.

Amid the growing uproar, former actress Rakshita, who is married to the film’s director Prem, has addressed the controversy through a series of Instagram notes. Without directly defending the content, Rakshita questioned what she described as “selective outrage,” pointing to past Bollywood songs and films that explored similar themes but did not attract comparable criticism.

She wrote, “Yes yes I have seen it all. I know you guys are tagging me in random people's posts. the fact is I know what's written. I know what's happening. My stand on whether I am for it or against it doesn't matter, when songs like Peelings, Dreamum Wakeupum, like Choli ke Peeche or 100s like these came out it seemed fine. When an entire film came out talking about how the actors just spoke about have sexual intercourse throughout the film it seemed fine. but one song creates massive news. still not justifying, just asking so I can understand this.”

Addressing criticism directed at her husband, she added, “When people talk about a particular director, n then talk about his films badly…. the same people who have loved him, it definitely is not a good feeling…. but that doesn't mean how talented he is is questioned…. wrong….. just because he wrote other beautiful songs,,, over one song doesn't mean he is a horrible writer or does everything for gimmicks..??? Wrong”.

Rakshita further emphasized the distinction between criticism and abuse. “Just because some films don't do as well as the others doesn't mean he is a bad film maker…. wrong…. do u have the rights to question him, yes, do u have the rights to ask him y, yes u do… do u have the rights to abuse him,??? Nooooo u don't…. when u abuse him or like some random lady spat badly saying it was personal..?? What was…. that it was kannada n aurige mantra abhimaana rosa, tappu”

Calling for respectful discourse, she wrote, “I love my language n people more than that I am sure… just because some one is abroad they love it more anta alla but when people talk about any person in public… shudnt we have some basic knowledge how to talk we r always in public light… we r questioned… we r made fun of… y only prem,,, even if i step out anywhere, i see some random people comment badly about me…. yappa blah blah blah n what….? Then these…. yes, n hey activists come out n say….. dont talk about rakshitha like that noooooooo never”

She also addressed the broader context of content consumption, “Song's r made everyday…. bad good provocative, special numbers…. yes yes all of them… today people r watching more blood shed films… sexual content in films…. everything pretty openly…. prem is a kannadiga as much as all of u are…. u all have the rights on him, to question him, to tell him what's right n what's not…. u guys can ask tell him what's u want…. but saying anything upon his past work about how gimmicky he let me tell u something”.

Highlighting the challenges faced by the Kannada film industry, she shared, “Today, selling a film to an ott, selling a film to a Channel is the biggest challenge for a Kannada director n producer in today's market…. no matter how much publicity one does… he finds it extremely difficult to reach at any heights or even close to other cinema markets…. y other language, even our people, bringing them to theatres is a very tough job, this is just not our story, this is very film in sandalwood…”

Defending her husband’s promotional approach, she continued, “Prem achieves that… with his kinda publicity…. with his kind of gimmicks “like some after the audience comes to the theatre u have the say…. rights to tell us if u guys liked it or no…. n we whole heartedly accept it, n try very hard to make the next film Even better…. just for u guys…. i value ur opinions n i love u guys… without u guys we r nothing, n that goes for us every actor… but being abusive or talking badly about anyone just shows the other reality on social media… how some can remove frustration… n others can get carried away”

Sharing her personal experience with online trolling, Rakshita stated, “I am always trolled for my body… I am spoken badly about…. but I am also loved by all of u…. just as much as I love u guys…. we have looked into everything…. n everything will be taken care of trust me…. don't worry, we r all fine…. mentally physically, when some love us… trust me we are work harder for those some, n also try to add more to that box… everything will be fine, its just bad timing, give us a a couple of days n everything will fall into place”

She concluded her statement with a message of reassurance and gratitude. “Thanks for all the concerned ones…. I am truly grateful…. Ranveer Singh, Sara Arjun thank audiences for making Dhurandhar a RECORD grosser: "We are STILL processing it"; Ranveer proclaims, "Ab Indian cinema ka mustakbil Dhurandhar: The Revenge tay karega!"

The music launch of Dhurandhar The Revenge, also the only event for the much-awaited film, took place on March 17 at Mumbai’s NESCO in the presence of hundreds of fans. Organized by Spotify, the event was slightly marred by mismanagement, as the team failed to provide adequate passes to mediapersons, leading to some minor chaos. Thankfully, the Dhurandhar The Revenge team made up for it with their quotes and live performances.

Ranveer Singh made a dramatic entry at the very beginning and performed to the song ‘Aari Aari’, which has already become a rage. He then asked the fans, “Did you love the music of Dhurandhar Part 1? Which is your favourite song?” As fans shouted out the names of various tracks, Ranveer smiled and remarked, “Dekho, yehi toh khaas baat hai. Sab ke alag alag favourites hain.”

He then touched upon the historic box office success achieved by the first part, “Thanks to your love, Dhurandhar reached a historic milestone. Thank you from our whole team to all the cinema-going audience.”

He added, “Dhurandhar The Revenge releases the day after tomorrow. Moviegoers not just in the country but across the world are eagerly waiting for it. Our whole team is thrilled and we are grateful to the response generated by the first part of the film. We are also so humbled by the excitement and anticipation for the second part. It's unprecedented. We are all still processing it.”

Ranveer continued, “We are here today for the music launch and to celebrate Shashwat Sachdev. This unstoppable fireball juggernaut of a talent. He's just too good.”

He further stated, “I have had the great honour of being in the studio with him. He is one of a kind. He's going to go down in history as one of the greats and he's just getting started!”

He also said, “Shashwat ne dono filmon mein apni jaan daal di. The music became the jaan of this film. Be it the title track, ‘Lutt Le Gaya’, ‘Ez-Ez’, ‘Naal Nachna’ – look at the versatility in just one album! There’s a song for every mood. Hrithik Roshan, Eshaan Roshan back Mess, a comedy set for Prime Video

On March 17, 2026, Prime Video announced its upcoming Prime Original movie, Mess. This comedy marks the second collaboration between the streaming service and HRX Films (a division of FilmKraft Productions, following the announcement of the thriller series Storm. Produced by Hrithik Roshan and Eshaan Roshan under the banner of HRX Films along with Rajesh A Krishnan's Soda Films Lab, Mess is directed by Krishnan. The original screenplay for the film was written by American writer Paul Soter, and the adapted screenplay and dialogue were written by Kapil Sawant. Mess tells the story about a motley group of robbers, who, upon invading the family house of a man with OCD, slowly realise it’s not the family but them who need to survive this night-long standoff.

“A key marker of a good story is if it takes you by surprise and keeps you entertained throughout. With Mess, we have a story that not only does that but makes you laugh at every step,” said Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video India. “The movie has a refreshingly original premise and a unique set of delightful characters. Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi to undergo 40-day reshoot, new song in the works: Report

Actor Salman Khan recently announced a significant update to his upcoming war drama, revealing its new title as Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace. The project was earlier known as Battle of Galwan, and the revised name points to a noticeable shift in tone and messaging.

Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film is inspired by the 2020 India-China military clash in the Galwan Valley. Salman Khan will portray late Colonel Bikumalla Santosh Babu in the film, which initially began shooting in Ladakh in September 2025 and was close to completion by December the same year.

However, the project is currently undergoing extensive changes. According to a Mid-Day report, the team has been reshooting portions of the film in Mumbai since February 2026, with nearly 40 days of additional work planned. The revised schedule includes filming new sequences aimed at reshaping the narrative.

One of the notable additions is a Chinese-language song, which will be composed by Himesh Reshammiya. The song is expected to be filmed featuring Salman Khan once it is finalised and recorded.

The changes are reportedly influenced by evolving geopolitical circumstances. Reportedly, the makers revisited the film’s approach in light of a cautious easing in relations between India and China. Given the sensitivity surrounding the Galwan conflict, the team is said to have opted for a narrative that places greater emphasis on themes of peace, harmony and the human cost of war, rather than focusing solely on the conflict itself.

With its revised title, additional scenes and new thematic direction, Maatrubhumi: May War Rest in Peace seems to be shaping up differently from its original conception.

Amazon Prime Video cancels Rs. 110 crores streaming deal for Vijay's Jana Nayagan

The OTT deal for Vijay’s long-delayed Jana Nayagan has been cancelled by Amazon Prime Video. The movie, which was initially slated for release during Pongal 2026, was postponed indefinitely due to an ongoing censor dispute.

Jana Nayagan and its dubbed Hindi version Jan Neta were postponed after being impeded by the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification). This, after the film had received an all-clear from the CBFC on December 29, and the producers were informed that Jana Nayagan would be granted the ‘UA 16+ censor certificate. However, on January 5, 2026, the Jana Nayagan producers were informed that the film was being referred to a Revising Committee. The CBFC cited an alleged complaint related to religious sentiments and the questionable portrayal of armed forces as the reasons for re-censoring.

With no sign of censor clearance, the producers of Jana Nayagan took a collective decision to postpone the film indefinitely.

The streaming platform Amazon Prime Video had purchased the post-theatrical streaming rights for a mind-blowing Rs. 110 crores. However, the platform has now backed out of the deal as there is no sign of the film’s theatrical release.

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif expected to reunite in Raajneeti 2, sequel to also be based on Mahabharat

Filmmaker Prakash Jha is bringing back Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in a sequel to his 2010 hit Raajneeti.

“And like the first Raajneeti, the second part will also be based on the Mahabharat,” said Prakash Jha whose new series Sankalp on the arrogance and corruption in the educational system of Bihar is resonating on the OTT platform.

Jha said, “The script for Raajneeti 2 is finally ready. And the time is ripe for the sequel to Raajneeti. There is so much more story to tell than what we have seen so far.”

Raajneeti 2 is expected to have the same stellar cast: Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif (who has been on a long maternity leave and this would be her comeback), Ajay Devgn, Nana Patekar, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee and Naseeruddin Shah.

Raajneeti had created history on many counts. Katrina, earlier known for her glamour alone, had played a character resembling Sonia Gandhi and she was fully committed to getting it right.

Prakash Jha just can't stop preening over the fact that his Raajneeti featured the maximum number of National Award winners in its cast. “It was Ranbir I was most hopeful about. I hoped, in fact, I was pretty certain he would win the National Award for his performance.” Ranbir played an US-educated scion of a political dynasty who had to reluctantly return home to shoulder his family's duties.

Said Jha, “This film took Ranbir to another level. In fact, everyone was outstanding in the film. And why not? I had a line-up of National Award winners in the cast, from Naseeruddin Shah and Nana Patekar to Manoj Bajpai and Ajay Devgan.”

First Ray Films has unveiled the teaser poster of the much-anticipated action thriller Lakadbaggha 2: The Monkey Business, marking a special moment for the franchise and its creator. The film centres around the endangered Celebes crested macaque, a rare primate native to Indonesia, also known as the North Sulawasi ‘Yaki Monkey’.

However, when this writer contacted the late actor Rishi Kapoor’s wife Neetu Kapoor, she admitted she had no knowledge of any such move by the family. Mrs Kapoor replied, “Hi Subhash, I am not aware of this.” When I asked if this was false news, she replied. “I think so. I am not sure.”

Anil Kapoor reveals he turned down cameo in Dhurandhar: The Revenge: “It’s my loss, but…”

Veteran actor Anil Kapoor recently revealed that he was approached for a cameo in Dhurandhar: The Revenge but had to decline the offer due to prior professional commitments.

The film is the sequel to Dhurandhar, directed by Aditya Dhar, which released on December 5, 2025 and went on to emerge as a major box office success. The scale of the first installment and its ensemble cast have contributed significantly to the anticipation surrounding the sequel.

Speaking at the India Today Conclave, Kapoor shared that Dhar had approached him for a small role in the upcoming film. However, the actor said he had already committed his dates to another filmmaker.

“Yes, Aditya came to me for Dhurandhar 2. He wanted me to do a small cameo in the film. But the reason I am what I am today is because of my professionalism and my commitment. That’s very important—only talent cannot make you what you are,” Kapoor said.

Explaining why he declined the role, the 69-year-old actor added, “At that time, I had already committed those dates to another filmmaker. I told Aditya, ‘I would have loved to do this cameo, but I’m already committed.’ He is releasing the film now, and it’s a fantastic film. It’s my loss, but it’s okay. So yes, he did offer me the role, and hopefully we will work together in the future.”

Following his revelation, social media users began speculating whether Kapoor had been approached to play the mysterious character ‘Bade Sahab’, whose identity is expected to be revealed in the sequel. There have also been rumours about Emraan Hashmi being linked to the role, though the makers have not confirmed any details.

Dhurandhar: The Revenge features an ensemble cast including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Akshaye Khanna. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on March 19, 2026.

Main Vaapas Aaunga: Imtiaz Ali reveals poster of Diljit Dosanjh-Starrer ahead of teaser launch

Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali has revealed the first poster of his upcoming film Main Vaapas Aaunga, offering audiences an early glimpse of the project ahead of its teaser launch today at 1 PM. The film stars Diljit Dosanjh in the lead role alongside Naseeruddin Shah, Vedang Raina and Sharvari Wagh.

Sharing the poster on social media, Ali announced, “Main Vaapas Aaunga. Teaser out today at 1 PM,” confirming that the film will arrive in theatres on June 12, 2026.

The film is backed by Applause Entertainment and Window Seat Films, with Mohit Choudhary also attached as a producer. According to the makers, the project is described as a story exploring themes of love and longing. One of the notable aspects of the film is the reunion of Ali with composer A. R. Rahman and lyricist Irshad Kamil. The trio have previously collaborated on films such as Tamasha, Highway and the 2024 biographical drama Amar Singh Chamkila, which also featured Dosanjh in the lead role.

Main Vaapas Aaunga also marks another collaboration between Ali and Dosanjh following Amar Singh Chamkila, which premiered on Netflix in 2024. CBFC makes subtitles mandatory for all Indian films from March 15

SCOOP: Ahaan Panday offered a film by Aanand L Rai and Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra respectively

After the historic success of Saiyaara, Ahaan Panday has become one of the most sought-after actors in the Hindi Film Industry. And now we hear that the young heartthrob of the nation has been offered two more exciting feature films. "Ahaan has been offered two distinctly different projects. After Tere Ishk Mein, Aanand L Rai has pitched his next directorial to Ahaan Panday. The actor has liked the idea, and is waiting to read the full script before deciding on the steps ahead," a source told Bollywood Hungama.

The source further informed that Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Excel Entertainment have pitched Karna to Ahaan. "Karna is an ambitious action spectacle, and the stakeholders feel Ahaan is the best pitch to bring this character from the Mahabharata on screen. Ahaan is amused with the vision, and will soon decide on his take for the film," the source told us further.

Apart from the above-mentioned films, Ahaan has rejected at least 10 scripts, as he wants to be sure about his career trajectory and sign on to films in a very responsible manner. "Ahaan is looking to do films that don't cheat his audience. He appreciates the love received from cine-goers and is focusing on giving the audience the best he can."

HISTORIC: Borivali multiplex sells Dhurandhar: The Revenge tickets for a RECORD Rs. 3100; HIGHEST in the country

The advance booking of the paid previews of Dhurandhar: The Revenge has received an unbelievable response. What has surprised the trade and industry is that despite the ‘Super Blockbuster Plus’ rates, shows are filling fast. In short, the ticket prices are the highest ever, surpassing those of Pushpa 2 – The Rule (2024), Stree 2 (2024), Oppenheimer (2023), and others. In December 2024, Bollywood Hungama was the first to report that the costliest ticket was sold for Pushpa 2 at Rs. 3000 at Maison PVR, located in Jio World Drive, BKC, Mumbai. We have now learned that with Dhurandhar: The Revenge, one cinema has gone past even this exorbitant ticket rate.

At Inox Megaplex in Sky City Mall, Borivali, inaugurated in August 2025, the ticket rates of the 10:15 pm and 11:15 pm shows in the Insignia class are available for Rs. 2900 and Rs. 3100. Viewers will be stunned to know that despite such rates, the Recliner Prime class, whose tickets are available for Rs. 3100, are almost full. As of 8:30 am on March 12, only one ticket is yet to be sold in this class for both shows.

The other theatre in India that comes close to this rate is Inox M5 Ecity, Bengaluru. The ticket price range in the Dine-In screen is between Rs. 2000 and Rs. 2900. As for Maison PVR in Mumbai, which created a record with Pushpa 2, it is selling Recliner class tickets for Rs. 2500 and Rs. 2550 for Dhurandhar: The Revenge.

Bollywood Hungama went through the ticket rates of other theatres to find out how many of them are selling tickets for Rs. 2000 plus. In PVR Lower IMAX, Mumbai, the recliner seats are sold for Rs. 2500. In Inox Malad, the Insignia class tickets for the 11:00 pm and 11:50 pm shows are sold for Rs. 2200.

In PVR Versova, one can buy tickets for Recliner class for Rs. 1900 or Rs. 2100. In Inox Maison BKC, one will have to shell Rs. 2200 for Recliner seats while in Inox Nariman Point, one will have to pay Rs. 2300 and Rs. 2500 for Recliners. Rs. 2500 is the rate of one ticket in PVR Drive In, also located in Jio World Drive.

In Delhi-NCR, too, the rates are above Rs. 2000 in cinemas like PVR Vegas Dwarka (Luxe), PVR Superplex Logix Noida (Rs. 2300 in Gold Class), PVR Ambience Gurugram (Rs. 2000 and Rs. 2400 in Gold Class), PVR Select Citywalk (between Rs. 2000 and Rs. 2400 in the Recliner Section), PVR Cinemagic Pitampura (rates ranging from Rs. 1800 to Rs. 2400), PVR Director's Cut in Delhi and Noida (flat rate of Rs. 2400), Inox RCube Monad Mall Delhi (an Insignia-only theatre with a flat rate of Rs. 2400), MovieMax Edition Luxe Noida (recliners-only theatre with tickets sold at Rs. 2100 and Rs. 2400) and Inox Ardee Mall Gurugram (an Insignia-only theatre with tickets sold between Rs. 1800 to Rs. 2200).

In Bengaluru, the other theatre to sell tickets for Rs. 2000 was Cinepolis Nexus Shantiniketan for the VIP class.

Coming back to Mumbai, even in single screens, the prices have gone through the roof. Gaiety-Galaxy aka G7 multiplex, had increased the ticket price to Rs. 200 for the balcony and Rs. 180 for the stall for the first time for Pushpa 2 – The Rule. For Dhurandhar: The Revenge, while the stall rates are still maintained at Rs. 180, the balcony tickets are sold for Rs. 220. The same price points are also set for Maratha Mandir. The cheapest ticket in Mumbai is sold at Nishat Cinema. The Lower Stall ticket is available for just Rs. 150, while that of the Upper Stall is sold for Rs. 180. As for the balcony, one will need to pay Rs. 200 to buy a ticket. These rates are quite skyhigh for the humble cinema hall, which usually sells tickets for Rs. 70, Rs. 80 and Rs. 100.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu in talks to join Salman Khan in Raj & DK’s upcoming superhero comedy: Report

A new development has emerged around the upcoming film being developed by filmmaker duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. Just days after reports surfaced that Salman Khan had been roped in to headline the project, fresh updates suggest that actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu is also in discussions to join the film.

The director duo, popularly known as Raj & DK, are widely recognised for creating successful streaming series such as The Family Man and Guns & Gulaabs, while also backing films as producers. With their next venture, the filmmakers are reportedly aiming for a larger cinematic scale, bringing together a unique blend of genres. According to a report in Mid-Day, Samantha is currently being considered for a key role in the project. A source told the publication, “Samantha is very much in the conversation. She shares a strong creative equation with the makers, and they feel she fits the part."

Bollywood Hungama had earlier reported that Salman Khan’s role in the film will offer a fresh take on the superhero genre. The narrative is expected to mix humour with action while presenting the actor in an unconventional avatar. “Salman Khan will be seen as a superhero who wants to hang up his cape and retire from saving the world, having grown weary of doing the same thing on repeat. But circumstances refuse to let him live in peace and keep pulling him back into action time and again, eventually pushing him into a larger conflict. The narrative blends broad comedy with superhero beats essentially, a high-concept superhero comedy,” a source informed Bollywood Hungama.

If Samantha comes on board, the project will mark an exciting collaboration between the actor, also marking her Hindi film debut. Meanwhile, Salman Khan is currently preparing for the release of his next film Battle of Galwan, which is based on real-life events. Directed by Apoorva Lakhia, the film features Chitrangda Singh alongside Salman and is scheduled to release on April 17, 2026. The actor is also expected to collaborate with producer Dil Raju on another upcoming project, though further details about that film remain under wraps.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu, on the other hand, has an active slate of projects ahead. She will next be seen in the Telugu action drama Maa Inti Bangaram, which also marks her debut as a producer. The film features an ensemble cast including Gulshan Devaiah, Diganth Manchale, Gautami Tadimalla, and Sreemukhi, and is directed by BV Nandini Reddy. It is currently slated for a worldwide theatrical release on May 15, 2026.

Jamie Lever recalls brother Jesse Lever's Tumour battle: "We would never return to that lifestyle"

Comedian and actor Jamie Lever recently opened up about a deeply emotional chapter in her family’s life, recalling how her brother Jesse Lever battled a tumour during childhood. Speaking about the difficult period in a podcast with Vickey Lalwani, Jamie revealed how the diagnosis and failed surgery changed the family’s life completely.

Jamie said Jesse was around 10–12 years old when doctors discovered a tumour in his neck. Because the tumour was entangled with nerves, surgery carried serious risks. “Doctors told us that if they operated, he could lose his eyesight or become paralysed,” she recalled. The family initially tried treatment in India, but the first surgery did not go as planned. Jamie described the experience as devastating for the entire family. “The first surgery failed and that phase was extremely difficult for all of us,” she said, adding that their daily lives began revolving around hospital visits and medical consultations.

According to Jamie, Jesse was also put on heavy medication for a long period. “He was taking nearly 50–60 tablets a day at one point because doctors hoped the tumour would shrink,” she shared. Despite the intense treatment, his condition did not improve significantly. Eventually, the family travelled to the United States in search of better medical options. During that trip, they were advised to consult specialists in New York. After further evaluation, Jesse underwent another surgery there, which successfully removed the tumour.

Reflecting on those years, Jamie said the ordeal reshaped their family’s outlook. “Those were very tough times. We would never want to return to that lifestyle again,” she said, referring to the constant anxiety and medical struggles they faced. She added that the experience strengthened the family’s faith and resilience, especially for her father, veteran comedian Johnny Lever.

Today, Jesse has recovered and moved forward with his creative career, working as a musician and performer while also appearing in films. Jamie said the family now looks back at that period with gratitude that he was able to overcome such a serious health challenge.

Tamil star Vijay told to appear before CBI in Karur stampede case

The walls seem to be closing in on Vijay, both personally and professionally. While his defiant stance on his alleged relationship with actress Trisha took a dramatic turn when the two appeared together at a wedding, on the professional front, Vijay is facing the music over a stampede case on September 27 last year resulting in the deaths of more than 40 people.

Now, Vijay has been asked to appear before the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for an enquiry into the Karur stampede case.

However, sources close to Vijay say the actor-politician is in the “chill mode”.

“He is taking it all on the chin. Vijay feels all of these problems are happening to him simultaneously with a reason. God wants him to tackle all the problems headlong and emerge stronger. He also feels there is a concerted effort to downsize his image by political opponents. But Vijay is unperturbed.”

On the occasion of the world television premiere of Thamma on Sony MAX, Director Aditya Sarpotdar shares that he had always wanted to collaborate with Ayushmann Khurrana. “From the very beginning, he was my first and only choice. Ayushmann has an inherent emotional honesty that allows audiences to instantly connect with him, even in the most unconventional worlds. We needed an actor who could ground an out-of-the-world narrative with sincerity and depth, and he does that effortlessly. His ability to make the extraordinary feel relatable made it easy to convince him, and I truly believe he brings a rare warmth and believability to this supernatural romance,” he says.

Ayushmann Khurrana plays Alok Goyal, a city-based journalist whose routine life is upended when he falls in love with Tadaka/Tarika, played by Rashmika Mandanna. Thamma is the fifth installment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe, and comes after Stree, Roohi, Bhediya, Munjya and Stree 2. The film was helmed by Munjya director Aditya Sarpotdar and also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Paresh Rawal and Sathyaraj in pivotal roles.

Singer-Composer Leslee Lewis makes Bollywood playback comeback after 26 years

Veteran singer-composer Leslee Lewis is set to make a comeback as a playback singer in Hindi cinema after a gap of 26 years, marking a significant moment in his long musical journey. Known for shaping India’s Indi-pop movement in the 1990s, Lewis is returning with the song Zorr Ka Dhakka, which will mark his re-entry into Bollywood playback singing.

Lewis rose to national fame as part of the iconic duo Colonial Cousins alongside Hariharan. Their fusion of Indian classical and Western pop in the mid-1990s helped redefine the independent music scene in India and earned them international recognition, including the MTV Asia Viewer’s Choice Award and the Billboard Viewer’s Choice Award.

Speaking about his return, Lewis shared his excitement about reconnecting with Bollywood after decades. “I was relevant then and I’m still relevant now,” he said while discussing his comeback and his continued passion for music. He added that singing for a composition by another musician after so many years feels refreshing and gives him the opportunity to explore a different creative process.

Over the years, Lewis has remained active in music through independent projects, composing advertising jingles and working on various albums and collaborations. His contribution to India’s pop and fusion music landscape extends beyond Bollywood, with several successful independent releases and musical experiments. Reflecting on the evolution of the music industry, Lewis noted that while trends may change, the essence of music remains the same. “What keeps you going is authenticity and passion,” he said, emphasising that originality continues to matter in an industry often driven by formulas. With his upcoming playback track, the veteran musician hopes to reconnect with audiences across generations.

Alia Bhatt, Sharvari starrer Alpha locks July 10, 2026 for its theatrical release

The upcoming YRF Spy Universe film Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari, has officially locked its theatrical release date. The much-anticipated spy thriller is scheduled to hit cinemas on July 10, 2026, marking a significant addition to the blockbuster franchise created by Yash Raj Films.

Directed by Shiv Rawail, Alpha is expected to be the first female-led installment in the YRF Spy Universe, which previously delivered major box-office successes with films such as Pathaan and War 2. The film places two women at the centre of a high-octane espionage narrative, expanding the scope of the franchise that has so far largely revolved around male protagonists.

While the makers have kept specific plot details under wraps, the film is described as a gritty, globe-trotting espionage thriller. The narrative reportedly follows Alia Bhatt and Sharvari as elite secret agents undertaking a high-stakes mission. Unlike some of the more stylised entries in the spy franchise, Alpha is said to adopt a rugged and raw aesthetic, focusing on a more grounded and intense depiction of field intelligence operations.

The film also brings together a strong ensemble cast. With Alia, Sharvari leading the narrative, Bobby Deol is set to play the primary antagonist. The actor’s role was previously teased through a brief appearance in the post-credits sequence of War 2. Veteran actor Anil Kapoor will also be seen in the film, portraying Vikrant Kaul, a senior intelligence official within the story’s spy network. Additionally, Hrithik Roshan is expected to make a special appearance, reprising his role as Major Kabir Dhaliwal, further connecting the film with the broader timeline of the YRF Spy Universe.

Behind the scenes, the screenplay has been written by Shridhar Raghavan, who has been associated with several action-driven projects. The film is being mounted on a large scale, with extensive action set pieces and visual effects work forming a key part of its cinematic experience.

Alpha has seen multiple shifts in its release schedule. The film was initially slated for a Christmas 2025 release before being moved to April 17, 2026. The project has now settled on the July 10, 2026 date, allowing the makers additional time to complete its extensive visual effects work.

Addressing speculation surrounding the delay, a YRF spokesperson said the team wanted to ensure the film was presented at its best possible scale, adding that Alpha is being mounted as a major theatrical spectacle and that the studio aims to present it in its most cinematic form.

Darsheel Safary joins Mohit Raina and Priya Mani in upcoming international film based on a true story

Actor Darsheel Safary has officially joined the cast of an upcoming cross-border international feature film that also stars Mohit Raina and National Award-winning actor Priya Mani. The yet-untitled project is being mounted as a global co-production between Mumbai-based Azure Entertainment and US-based Red Bison Productions.

The film will mark the first on-screen collaboration between Mohit Raina and Priya Mani, bringing together two performers known for their work across both theatrical cinema and streaming platforms. With Darsheel Safary joining the ensemble, the project brings together actors from different cinematic spaces, spanning mainstream films, prestige streaming content, and internationally recognised storytelling formats.

According to the makers, the film is positioned as a premium international project and is expected to be released on a global streaming platform. The story will reportedly explore themes of identity, resilience, and human connection across borders while blending cinematic scale with intimate human drama.

Darsheel Safary, who gained worldwide recognition with his debut performance in Taare Zameen Par, is said to play a key role in the narrative. Sources close to the production indicate that his character will act as an emotional bridge between the Indian and international worlds portrayed in the film, forming a central part of the story’s emotional arc.

Speaking about joining the project, Darsheel Safary shared, “This story moved me deeply. It speaks about courage, vulnerability, and choices that define who we become. I’m grateful to be part of a film that transcends geography and speaks to universal emotions.”

The untitled feature is based on a true story and will follow the emotional journey of an immigrant family navigating questions of identity, belonging, and life beyond the traditional idea of the American Dream. The narrative is described by the makers as intimate yet cinematic, focusing on themes that resonate across cultures and geographies.

The project is written and directed by Harsh Mahadeshwar and is currently in advanced pre-production. Principal photography is scheduled to commence later this year, with the film expected to be shot across multiple international locations. The production will be backed by an international team spanning India and the United States, with the makers aiming to combine high production values with a global distribution strategy.

Azure Entertainment, known for producing films such as Badla, Kesari, and Rocky Handsome, is collaborating with Red Bison Productions to bring the story to the screen. Vivek Oberoi praises UAE leadership and Emirates crew amid Israel–Iran tensions: “Moved to tears”

Actor Vivek Oberoi has spoken about the situation in Dubai amid the ongoing tensions linked to the Israel–Iran conflict. After Lara Dutta shared her perspective earlier, Oberoi also took to social media to address his fans and followers, highlighting the efforts of the Government of the United Arab Emirates in supporting residents during the situation.

The actor shared a video on Instagram along with a note thanking the leadership and airline staff who helped maintain calm during the tense period. In the caption, he wrote, “My deepest gratitude to the UAE leadership, the frontline heroes, and the wings of @emirates for their incredible guardianship. It’s good to be back.”

In the video, Oberoi reflected on what the recent days felt like for residents of the country. He said, “For all of us from over 200 nationalities who live here, UAE is simply home. These past few days, as geopolitical tensions grew, the distance between where I was and where my family waited felt heavier than ever. Returning to Dubai, I felt every person on that Emirates plane had a silent story in their eyes.”

Speaking about the flight crew and the emotional atmosphere during the journey, he added, “Hats off to the Emirates crew for maintaining the calm and taking care of everyone with a smile despite their own fears. The moment we touched down, the atmosphere shifted from silent anxiety to a collective surge of relief. Walking through the terminal, I couldn't help but be moved to tears as I saw daughters throwing themselves into the parents' arms and fathers finally lifting their little ones into the air.”

The actor also spoke about the anxiety he experienced while thinking about his children during the journey. “I had spent the entire journey with my own heart racing, my thoughts fixed entirely on my kids. Thank you for the safety you carry in your wings and for providing the quiet peace we all needed to find our way back.”

EXCLUSIVE: Rani Mukerji exits Oh My Goddess after creative differences with Amit Rai; here’s what happened behind the scenes

Rani Mukerji and Akshay Kumar were all set to collaborate on the Amit Rai-directed Oh My Goddess. Akshay made the film official by wishing Rani on the release of Mardaani 3, terming her the "Goddess" in the wish. "Go watch the goddess of acting in her most powerful avatar. I saw it, I loved it. Don’t miss it," he had posted, indirectly confirming Oh My Goddess. Earlier in the day, a PR website floated an article that Rani was never signed for Oh My Goddess.

However, we have dived deep into the matter to find the truth. Reliable sources confirm that Rani Mukerji was indeed confirmed to do Oh My Goddess with Akshay Kumar and Amit Rai. "However, she started to have creative differences with Amit Rai. She had a certain way of looking at the script, including post-production, and expected Amit to follow her experience. Amit, on the other hand, had a strong counter perspective on the presentation of the film. The duo eventually could not gel well, leading to a fall-out of sorts," a source shared with Bollywood Hungama.

Akshay tried to bring the two on the same page, but eventually felt that the right energy was needed to make the film happen and that it was best not to force this casting. “Rani, too, had her reservations, and the two senior actors, like true professionals, decided to amicably part ways on Oh My Goddess. Rani loved the script but, with a heavy heart, chose to step away. The team is now looking to recast the role with another senior actress.”

Oh My Goddess was slated to go on floors in April with a start-to-finish schedule, but the same now stands stalled. The website earlier claimed that the paperwork with Rani had not happened, but we at Bollywood Hungama can confirm that the pre-production of Oh My Goddess was in full swing, and the makers were looking to start the film from April with Rani Mukerji. "They are not naive enough to invest money in pre-production without any paperwork. Castings fall through for varied reasons, but to term it fiction just to make a point is irresponsible journalism."

Oh My Goddess is produced by Akshay Kumar with Viacom 18, wherein the Khiladi plays an extended cameo.
