Applause Entertainment partners with Ellipsis Entertainment and Twinkle Khanna’s Mrs. Funnybones Movies for their next film

Applause Entertainment is partnering with Ellipsis Entertainment and Mrs. Funnybones Movies on their next feature. The film is an adaptation of the short story ‘Salaam Noni Appa’ from Twinkle Khanna’s best-selling book, “The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad”. Twinkle has emerged as one of the country’s foremost humor authors and columnists, with her biting wit and sardonic insights about modern-day life. The film is a winning comic romance that breaks stereotypes and is to be directed by one of India’s leading advertising mavericks, Sonal Dabral, who makes his debut with the film.

Salman Khan to kick off 90-day schedule for Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali in Karjat

Salman Khan is ready for his next film. After releasing Antim - The Final Truth last year and wrapping up Tiger 3, the actor will soon kick off Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali at ND Studios in Karjat. The film stars him alongside Pooja Hegde and is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film also stars Aayush Sharma and Zaheer Iqbal, playing the roles of Salman's brothers. Reportedly, Venkatesh will also be starring in the film.

As per a report in a daily, Salman Khan will be kicking off a long marathon schedule in Karjat. The makers have chalked out a 90-day schedule and the actor will be stationed there until the shoot is completed. They also have two foreign schedules which will be finalised in the coming weeks. Salman Khan does not want to lose out on any days so that film releases on New Year's Eve.

Furthermore, it was reported that Anal Arasu will be choreographing the action scenes; Brahmastra cinematographer V Manikanda is on board as well. Since the film is a cross-cultural love story, actors from North and South will be part of the cast including veteran actor Venkatesh. The actor has also brought big names on board including music composer Devi Sri Prasad and cinematographer V Manikandan.

Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali will release on December 30, 2022, a few days after Salman Khan's birthday and welcoming New Year.

Lee Yoo Bi likely to join Bae Suzy and Yang Se Jong in upcoming webtoon-based drama The Girl Downstairs

South Korean actress Lee Yoo Bi is currently in talks to star alongside Bae Suzy and Yang Se Jong, who are also in talks to star, in the upcoming webtoon-based drama The Girl Downstairs (working title).

According to Korean tabloid Soompi, confirming the reports of Lee Yoo Bi being offered a role in the new drama, her agency Y-BLOOM shared, “It is one of the project she is positively reviewing.”

Created by Songah Min, The Girl Downstairs is a popular Naver webtoon about an ex-idol Lee Du Na and college freshman Lee Won Joon who end up living together in a shared housing.

It was previously reported that Suzy is in talks to star as Lee Du Na, the lead vocalist of the group Dream Sweet, who suddenly decided to retire, while Yang Se Jong is in talks to portray Lee Won Joon. Per the report, Lee Yoo Bi is currently in the States for personal reasons.

Meanwhile, Lee Yoo Bi has previously appeared in K-dramas like The Innocent Man (2012), Gu Family Book (2013), Pinocchio (2014), 18 Again (2017), Yumi’s Cells (2021) and also worked in films like The Royal Tailor (2014) and Twenty (2015).

Big Hit Music officially addresses reports of BTS’ Jimin’s apartment being seized due to unpaid health insurance premiums; company admits fault

South Korean juggernaut group BTS member Jimin’s Seoul apartment was recently seized temporarily due to negligence towards health insurance payments. The Grammy-nominated group’s agency Big Hit Music has now officially addressed reports of Jimin’s apartment seizure due to non-payment of insurance premiums and admitted that the situation had been caused by an error at the company.

On April 24, it was reported that the National Health Insurance Service had seized Jimin’s apartment at Nine One Hannam in Seoul on January 25 due to the singer not paying his health insurance premiums. As Korean tabloid Soompi notes, Jimin received four separate notices about the seizure by registered mail during the time that his apartment was temporarily seized, and the seizure was ultimately lifted on April 22 after he paid the overdue health insurance premiums.

The management label Big Hit Music responded with a statement explaining the situation later that evening. “Regarding this matter, the company is the first to receive all mail that arrives at the artists’ dorms, and in the process of relaying it to the artist, a portion of the mail was omitted by mistake,” the statement began.

The statement continued, “Due to Jimin’s activities abroad starting at the end of last year, his extended period of rest, and his scheduled activities abroad after that, he was unaware of matters such as [his premiums] being overdue. As soon as he found out, he paid the arrears in full, and at present, the situation has been resolved. We apologize for the fact that we have given the artist and fans cause for concern due to our company’s negligence,” it ended.

Meanwhile, Jimin recently made headlines for his debut OST “With You” for the K-drama Our Blues. The singer collaborated with his best friend Ha Sung Woon for the first time for the OST. As for the apartment, Jimin bought his property in Nine Hannam One Hill for 5.9 billion won (over Rs. 36.1 crore) in May last year. It was reported back then that he and RM bought apartments in the same complex.

Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani and Tabu starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 trailer releases on April 26

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 trailer is only a day away. After several months of anticipation, the makers of Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu starrer are all set to drop the trailer on April 26. Kartik Aaryan takes on the role of Indian ghosthunter after Akshay Kumar who starred in Bhool Bhulaiyaa originally helmed by Priyadarshan. The sequel, helmed by Anees Bazmee, is expected to be one rollercoaster ride of laughter and chills.

The trailer of the film will arrive tomorrow. A new poster of the film has been unveiled featuring the lead actors and a ghost. On Twitter, Kartik wrote, "Kal lekar aa rahe hain Trailer. #BhoolBhulaiyaa2. 20th May 2022."

Kiara Advani plays the female lead of the film alongside Kartik Aaryan, while Rajpal Yadav is perfectly in his element as Chhota Pandit from the first part and Tabu will be seen in a pivotal role too in this Anees Bazmee starrer. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is all set to hit the big screens on the 20th of May, 2022.

Heropanti 2 makers lock deal with a national multiplex chain; offer audience a chance to meet Tiger Shroff

Post the last wave of the pandemic, theatres across the nation are rejoicing with films returning to the big screen with a bang. After back-to-back hits in the form of The Kashmir Files, RRR, and KGF – Chapter 2, we now see the release of the action entertainer Heropanti 2. Starring Tiger Shroff in his action-packed avatar, the film has been generating immense buzz in the run-up to its release. Now we hear that the makers of the film have even locked a deal with a major national multiplex chain to help promote Heropanti 2.

A well-placed industry source informs Bollywood Hungama of the details saying, “Sajid Nadiadwala is going all out to ensure the success of Heropanti 2. The audience is there, and they are more than ready for the film. But to entice a few more, Nadiadwala has locked a deal with a major multiplex chain that will help promote the film in lieu of an on-ground event with Tiger Shroff.” Ask for details and he continues, “As per the deal, the multiplex chain will promote the film, and the audience who buy a certain snack basket (popcorn tub) will stand a chance to meet Tiger Shroff in person.”

While this will not be the first time a national multiplex chain has tied up with a film for promotions, it is certainly a unique concept. For starters, while PVR had changed its logo to include the title of SS Rajamouli’s RRR in it, this new promotional campaign brings theatergoers that much closer to the celebrities they adore.

As for the film, Ahmed Khan directs Heropanti 2, starring Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, the film is slated to hit screens this Friday, April 29.
