Naseeruddin Shah’s son Vivaan Shah tests positive for Covid-19

The cases of COVID-19 are rapidly increasing in the country. Many Indian celebrities have tested positive in the past few months. In recent times, Naseeruddin Shah’s son Vivaan Shah has confirmed that he tested positive for Covid-19 too. Speaking to a daily, he said that he has not been feeling well since he was tested positive.

He joins the long list of actors who had tested positive including Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek Bachchan, Kanika Kapoor, Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tamannaah Bhatia, Arjun Kapoor, Malaika Arora among others.

Vivaan Shah has been quite busy promoting Mira Nair's A Suitable Boy which stars Tabu, Ishaan Khatter, Ram Kapoor among others.

SCOOP: Shah Rukh Khan to open a state-of-the-art studio in Navi Mumbai?

Since the time Shah Rukh Khan opened his production house, named Dreamz Unlimited, more than 20 years back, it had become clear that the superstar is not going to be content with just being an actor. As time passed, SRK’s production house, rechristened as Red Chillies Entertainment, also diversified into distribution and creating content for the web. Shah Rukh also started Red Chillies. VFX and has done path-breaking work in several films, including Shah Rukh’s own VFX heavy films like Ra.One (2011) and Zero (2018). And now, if reports are to be believed, Shah Rukh Khan is all set to add one more feather in his cap.

A source reveals, “Shah Rukh Khan is all set to open a full-fledged studio in the next few years. It will be a state-of-the-art facility and will be equipped with all kinds of amenities. It will be built over a large area and will consist of several floors or shooting sets. Even outdoor venues will be available inside the shooting premises itself. SRK and his team even have plans to develop soundstages and also sets specifically designed to shoot VFX-heavy stuff. In short, it’ll be an apt shooting location which is sure to be lapped up by several filmmakers.”

The source further adds, “Shah Rukh Khan is already looking for places where the studio could be built. Getting such a large mass of land in a city like Mumbai will be impossible. Hence, he and his team are eyeing Navi Mumbai. It’s closer to the city and moreover, the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link is expected to be ready in a few years and it’ll make commuting faster. Not just that, the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport will ensure that filmmakers from all over the country and also the world can reach the studio in no time after they land here. If all goes well, SRK will also establish a hotel inside the studio premises and hence, the unit members can stay inside the studio itself. The vision of Shah Rukh is excellent and it’s sure to be a landmark self-contained film studio of India.”

On the film front, Shah Rukh Khan is finally expected to shoot after a hiatus of nearly two years, for Pathan. It is produced by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films and directed by Siddharth Anand.

Ajay Devgn to resume shoot for Bhuj – The Pride Of India post Diwali

The past eight months have been very difficult on all of us with the sudden lockdown due to the pandemic. With the businesses and films resuming their work steadily, there are a lot of safety precautions that need to be put in place before they handle a big crew without anyone contracting the virus. Ajay Devgn has not resumed shoot yet and has been planning a 12-day schedule for his upcoming film Bhuj – The Pride Of India. As per the reports, Ajay Devgn will accompany Sanjay Dutt, Ammy Virk, and Sharad Kelkar on this 12-day schedule to can a few dramatic scenes and fight sequences.

The team is currently on a recce for a location safe enough to shoot the remaining portions of the film and the shoot is likely to resume after Diwali. The final schedule will kick-off once Sanjay Dutt is back from his family vacation from Dubai and the makers will call in Sonakshi Sinha and Nora Fatehi for their final patchwork. The director plans to keep all the safety measures in place and is excited to be back on the sets. Bhuj – The Pride Of India is a period war drama that will have an ample amount of action sequences and drama with Ajay Devgn playing the role of Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik.

Like many other films this year, this Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, and Sonakshi Sinha starrer is set of an OTT release.

EXCLUSIVE: Shahid Kapoor to commence Chandigarh schedule of Jersey on November 9

After the massive success of Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor will essay the role of a cricketer in the Hindi remake of the Telugu film, Jersey. The actor had commenced shooting in Chandigarh earlier this year when the shooting was halted amid the coronavirus pandemic in March. The actor recently resumed work and has already wrapped up the film schedule in Uttarakhand. Now, he is set to fly to Chandigarh.

According to sources, “Shahid Kapoor has been prepping to shoot crucial sequences. He will commence the Chandigarh schedule of Jersey on November 9. The makers plan to shoot important cricket sequences. It will be a 15-day schedule for Shahid Kapoor and the Jersey team.”

Jersey stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur. It is a remake of the Telugu film with the same starring Nani. The film is being directed by Gowtam Tinnanauri who helmed the critically acclaimed and commercially successful original as well.

Produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, Dil Raju, the film was scheduled for August 28, 2020 release. Due to the pandemic, most of the productions have been pushed to 2021.

EXCLUSIVE: Abhishek Bachchan to play corrupt Chief Minister in Dinesh Vijan’s Dasvi; Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur to be the leading ladies

It seems like Abhishek Bachchan has signed his next project. While the reports stated that Abhishek Bachchan was set to star in Dinesh Vijan’s Dasvi, it was also reported that Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur have been roped in as the leading ladies.

With Abhishek Bachchan headlining the project, his role is quite interesting. According to the grapevine, the actor will be seen in a “never-before-seen avatar. He is set to play the role of an illiterate play corrupt Chief Minister in Dinesh Vijan’s Dasvi.”

While the inspiration behind the role is yet to be known, we have to wait to see what kind of portrayal Abhishek Bachchan will essay on the big screen.” Interestingly, he starred in Ram Gopal Varma’s Sarkar Raj in which he was the son of a corrupt politician, played by his father Amitabh Bachchan.

The film will have two leading ladies – Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur. Though their roles are kept under wraps, it seems like they will also have pivotal roles to play. The official announcement is yet to be made by Dinesh Vijan.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Bachchan is awaiting the release of The Big Bull. Directed by Kookie Gulati and produced by Ajay Devgn, Anand Pandit, and Vikrant Sharma, Kumar Mangat Pathak, the film will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar. The official date is yet to be announced. Yami  Gautam, on the other hand, is currently shooting for Bhoot Police.

Kaun Banega Crorepati 12: FIR registered against Amitabh Bachchan and KBC makers for question related to Manusmriti, Dr BR Ambedkar

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, who recently returned to work with Kaun Banega Crorepati 12, has come under fire. An FIR has been filed in Lucknow against the makers of KBC 12 and Amitabh Bachchan for hurting Hindu sentiments.

Social activist Bezwada Wilson and actor Anup Soni appeared on the latest episode of the shot and the question was Rs 6,40,000. The question was, “On 25 December 1927, Dr BR Ambedkar and his followers burned copies of which scripture?” The options that were provided were, “(A). Vishnu Purana (B). Bhagavad Gita, (C). Rigdev (D). Manusmriti.”

As the answer was Manusmriti, Amitabh Bachchan went onto explain how Dr. BR Ambedkar had burnt copies of Hindu text Manusmriti and condemned by him in 1927. This explanation did not sit well with netizens. They said that this hurt Hindu sentiments.

Amitabh Bachchan and Ekta Kapoor cancel Diwali parties this year on account of Rishi Kapoor’s death

With the world dealing with pandemic and the rise of coronavirus cases have been quite disturbing, the festive season seems to be more remote this year. Amid the pandemic, many celebrities won’t be organizing their parties this year. In April, actor Rishi Kapoor passed away after his prolonged battle with leukemia. Amitabh Bachchan, a close friend of Kapoor and considered him as a younger brother, won’t be hosting his annual Diwali party this year.

They were close friends, worked together in several films and he was Shweta Bachchan’s uncle as she is married to Rishi Kapoor’s nephew Nikhil Nanda.  Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor worked in films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Coolie, Kabhie Kabhie, Ajooba, and others. Their last work together was in 2018's 102 Not Out.

Following suit, Ekta Kapoor has also decided to cancel her annual party as well. While they were not related, Ekta’s family considered Rishi Kapoor as family.

Rishi Kapoor had returned to India in September last year after being treated for cancer in New York for nearly a year. While he was in New York, his wife Neetu Kapoor was by his side throughout. His son Ranbir Kapoor and girlfriend Alia Bhatt would often visit the ailing Rishi Kapoor.
