Ranbir Kapoor claims K Vijayendra Prasad considerably added to Brahmastra; latter says, “I have not done anything much”

South Indian cinema owes a big debt to writer K Vijayendra Prasad for authoring some of their biggest blockbusters including son S S Rajamouli’s mega-hits Baahubali an RRR. Vijayendra who is also the writer of the Salman Khan hit Bajrangi Bhaijaan, has now rescued Karan Johar’s long-in-the-making grossly over-budgeted Brahmastra. Set to be released on September 9 the film directed by Ayan Mukerjee features the director’s buddy Ranbir Kapoor in the lead. Brahmastra is being whispered about as a huge loss maker even before release.

Recently Ranbir Kapoor revealed that Vijayendra Prasad was called in as consultant to make changes in the film and that those changes have added a considerably to the film’s intrinsic value.

As always, Vijayendra Prasad downplays his contribution. “Ranbir Kapoor is being too kind. I have not done anything much. It is like a meal when cooked and someone is asked to taste it. The taster may suggest that the food needs some extra salt. I was shown Brahmastra and asked to give my opinion. I added some salt to the dish, that’s all.”

However the buzz in Karan Johar’s circle is that the climax of Brahmastra has been altered on Vijayendra Prasad’s suggestion. But, Vijayendra denies making any radical changes to the film. “I’ve just tightened some nuts and bolts, that’s all. Please don’t give me excessive credit for some suggestions that I made to fine-tune the product. Ayan Mukerjee has made a wonderful film. Kids will love it.”

Netflix shells out Rs. 200 crores for Heeramandi; Sanjay Leela Bhansali takes Rs. 65 cr. as directorial fees

Neflix seems to be a very confident about Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ability to deliver a worldwide blockbuster. The OTT platform has allotted an unprecedented budgetary amount for Bhansali’s Heeramandi. The staggering budgetary amount is Rs 200 crores, inclusive of the director’s payment.

A well-informed source revealed to Bollywood Hungama, “Bhansali will be pocketing around Rs. 60-65 crore rupees as a directorial fee,  the rest of the  200-crore budget for Heeramandi goes into production costs and in paying the actors.

One hears the actors in Heeramandi, Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Huma Qureshi and Richa Chadha have agreed to work at reduced rates. The male cast of Heeramandi is now being finalized.

Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Badhaai Do celebrated at the prestigious Mumbai International Queer Film Festival 'Kashish'

Junglee Pictures' Badhaai Do is one of the few films which not only managed to mark a spectacular opening post the third wave despite the 50% capacity but also gave rich content that was appreciated by the audiences, fraternity as well as the LGBTQIA community.

Celebrating pride month, Badhaai Do was screened at South Asia's biggest LGBTQIA+ film festival, Kashish- Mumbai International Queer Film Festival, to empower the community. The film is being hailed for its realistic portrayal of LGBTQIA community and characters. ‘Badhaai Do’ is probably the most successful film in India that featured the LGBTQIA story at the heart of it.

Talking about the film festival, director Harshavardhan Kulkarni says “It is an honour and a privilege to be able to screen our film at KASHISH 2022, South Asia’s biggest LGBTQ+ film festival. We are humbled that the film has been accepted with so much love and is being screened on this wonderful platform in the “month of pride”. We hope our film can contribute in creating a world where love is love – nothing more, nothing less”

Adding to the same, the lead actor Rajkummar Rao says “I am grateful that the audiences resonated so well with our film. Now that the Pride month is here, and celebrating it at a platform like KASHISH with a film that’s so close to me is truly heartwarming”

The festival will be screening around 194+ films from 53 countries at Liberty Cinema from the 1st-5th June. KASHISH is the first Indian LGBTQ+ festival to be held with the approval by the Information & Broadcasting Ministry, Government of India. Founded in 2010, KASHISH has become an important medium for exhibition, production and distribution of LGBTQIA+ films. It has been voted as one of the Top 5 LGBT Film Festivals in the World, and also one of the Top 5 Film Festivals in India.

The screening held yesterday was attended by Rajkummar Rao, Chum Darang, Harshavardhan Kulkarni and Junglee Pictures CEO Amrita Pandey along with the crew/ team

Junglee Pictures’ Badhaai Do is directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni, written by Akshat Ghildial and Suman Adhikary. The movie was released in theaters on 11th February and is worldwide theatrically distributed by Zee Studios.

Kangana Ranaut starrer Tejas being reshot and readied for direct OTT release after Dhaakad’s failure? Makers clarify

Kangana Ranaut was recently seen on the big screen in the actioner Dhaakad. However, the film failed to establish a connect with the audience, and with negative feedback from critics, it soon vanished from theatres.

Now, we hear that Kangana Ranaut is gearing up for her next release Tejas. In fact, the grapevine claims that post the Dhaakad debacle the makers of the film RSVP are reshooting certain portions as well as planning to release the film directly on OTT.

Revealing details about the same a well-placed industry insider tells Bollywood Hungama, “Post Dhaakad the makers of Tejas have decided on reshooting certain portions of the film to avoid making a similar mistake. Besides this, given the recent box office turmoil, or rather the past record of Kangana, RSVP feels that Tejas will fare better if it features a direct to OTT release.” Ask for details about the release and he continues, “Ronnie Screwvala and the RSVP team working on Tejas are still brainstorming about a direct to OTT release, they are yet to lock a platform and date. But currently the general consensus is that an OTT release will be beneficial to all parties, producer, actor and director. They do not want to be caught surprised with a similar box office fate as Dhaakad and would want to secure their commercials.”

However, to gain a little more clarity on the subject, Bollywood Hungama reached out to RSVP, who denied the developments completely. In fact, as per RSVP, the film is still slated for a theatrical release in October. Dispelling the rumours as hearsay the production house asserts that while certain portions of the film are yet to be shot, the same will be completed in time for an October 2022 release. As for the date itself, the makers of Tejas reiterate that the film will release in theatres on October 5.

Tejas, which is set in 2016, revolves around a daring female fighter pilot, and the decision by the India Air Force to induct women into combat roles.

Chief of RSS, Shri Mohan Bhagwat to watch Samrat Prithviraj starring Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhillar

Chief of RSS Mohan Bhagwat is set to watch the retelling of the life of Prithviraj Chauhan at a special screening in New Delhi on June 3. Akshay Kumar and leading lady Manushi Chhillar, along with director Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi will be present for this screening of Samrat Prithviraj.

Yash Raj Films’ first historical, Samrat Prithviraj, is based on the life and valour of the fearless and mighty Samrat. Akshay is essaying the role of the legendary warrior who fought valiantly to protect India’s freedom from the merciless invader Muhammad of Ghor in this visual spectacle. Samrat Prithviraj’s courage and leadership has inspired generations through folklore.

Confirming this, Akshay said, “Samrat Prithviraj is our humble attempt to tell Indians across the world about a true warrior who sacrificed his life for India’s freedom, standing up against merciless invaders. It is our honour that Shri Mohan Bhagwatji will be watching this authentic historical spectacle. The film is our attempt to honour a glorious king who decided to not give an inch of Bharatmata’s land to invaders who didn’t belong to our country. Dr Chandraprakash Dwivedi, director, added, “Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan’s life is an example for every Indian. When invaders came to attack our motherland, he stood up and took them on. Our country is in a state of constant attack from forces known and unknown and the youth of the country must understand this and take note of the job at hand. We have to make India stronger and I hope our film can inspire everyone. We are humbled that Shri Mohan Bhagwatji is watching our attempt at retelling history in its most authentic manner.”

The gorgeous Manushi Chhillar plays the role of King Prithviraj’s beloved Sanyogita in this highly anticipated historical and this is definitely one of the most awaited debuts of 2022. The film is set to release on June 4 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Singer K K had an underlying heart condition; doctor claims he could have been saved with timely CPR

The death of one of Bollywood’s most popular singers K K came as a shock to the nation. What was even shocking was the way singer K K passed away. Although there has been no evidence in terms of foul play by far, it is now being said that the demise of the singer was due to an underlying heart condition. Reports suggest that the singer was taking antacids as he believed he had digestion issues. However, it seems that the actor was facing heart blockage due to which he was in pain.

A medical practitioner spoke to PTI after he completed the procedure. The doctor was quoted saying “The vocalist had 80 per cent blockage in the left main coronary artery and small blockages in various other arteries and sub-arteries. None of the blockades was 100 per cent...During Tuesday's performance, the singer was walking around and at times dancing with the crowd which created excessive excitement that caused a stoppage of blood flow leading to cardiac arrest.”

The doctor went on to add if the singer was given CPR at the right time he could have been saved. That was not all! The doctor also reportedly spoke about the vocalist having antacids by adding that he possibly took it because he assumed that the pain was due to digestion issues.

Singer K K passed away two days due to a sudden cardiac arrest. The vocalist was performing at a concert in Kolkata and complained of chest pain after the concert. If reports are to be believed his wife had stated that the actor had complained of hand pain before flying to Kolkata.

On the other hand, his sudden demise has also raised concerns about the concert venue conditions in India. From overcrowding to overheating to suffocation, many singers are raising their voices against bad concert conditions.

Check out Esha Gupta SEDUCING Bobby Deol in Aashram 3

In 2017, Esha Gupta broke the internet with her risqué pictures. The actress pushed the envelope with her bold photoshoots that got everyone talking. Five years later, Esha Gupta is all set to grab the headline once again with her confident and sensuous avatar in the web series, Aashram 3. The trailer of the show was released on May 13 and it gave a slight glimpse of Esha seducing the lead, Bobby Deol. It looked quite steamy and has already made people curious to watch Aashram 3.

Now that Aashram 3 has released, we can vouch that this seductive sequence is one of the most interesting parts of the show. The scene appears in the fifth episode and is a part of the song 'Tore Ang Lag Jaau'. Esha Gupta, while seducing, does a yoga-inspired dance and it adds to the impact. What’s also praiseworthy is that director Prakash Jha has executed it very aesthetically and it doesn’t look cheap at all. Special mention should also go to the choreographer Jayesh Pradhan, and costume designer Priyanka Mundada as Esha Gupta looks quite appealing in the pink co-ord set, comprising a bralette with a ruffled skirt.

Aashram is the story of Baba Nirala Kashipur Waale (Bobby Deol), who pretends to be a godman but is actually a criminal. In the third season, he’s seen running the government of the state, though the chief minister is Hukum Singh (Sachin Shroff). Hukum Singh introduces the Baba to Sonia (Esha Gupta), a branding expert. Sonia, however, pretends to be a die-hard devotee of Baba. Baba gets impressed and calls her to his private chamber, and this is when this sequence comes into the picture.

Prakash Jha has directed all three seasons of Aashram. The first season was released on August 28, 2020. It was a huge success, prompting the streaming platform MX Player to advance the release of season 2. Aashram Chapter 2 – The Dark Side premiered on November 11, 2020, six months before its initial release date. Aashram 3, meanwhile, was out on June 3, 2022. Esha Gupta’s character gets introduced in Season 3. Interestingly, this is the second time that she worked with Prakash Jha. Their maiden venture together was the political action-packed film, Chakravyuh (2012).
