Colors TV issues an apology with regards to Jaan Kumar Sanu’s comments on Marathi language in Bigg Boss 14

Another controversy regarding Bigg Boss 14 unfolds. Jaan Kumar Sanu was recently seen commenting on Marathi language and that has irked the political parties Shiv Sena and MNS. The political parties released a statement that demanded an apology in 24 hours from the channel as well as the contestant and they threatened to shut down the shoot if they failed to do so. Jaan Kumar Sanu was seen speaking to a fellow contestant and said that they should not speak to him in Marathi if they wish to have a conversation with him.

He further said that he finds the language annoying and if she has the courage then she should speak to him in Hindi. The political parties did not take this well and Aadesh Bandekar, the secretary of Shiv Sena and the head of the party’s Chitrapat Sena tweeted, “बिग बॉस च्या व्यवस्थापनाने व ह्या व्यक्ती ने महाराष्ट्राची व मराठी जनतेची त्वरित माफी मागावी ज्यानी हे कृत्य केले त्याची तातडीने हकालपट्टी करावी... अशी बदनामी करणाऱ्यांची चित्रीकरण परवानगी महाराष्ट्र शासनाने रद्द करावी... शिवसेना चित्रपट सेना”.

Post which, Colors channel issued an apology regarding the same and wrote, “We at COLORS apologise for the remarks in relation to Marathi language made on Bigg Boss episode aired on Tuesday, 27^th October. We had no intentions of hurting the sentiments of the people of Maharashtra.”

Udaan actress Malvi Malhotra suffers a knife attack after refusing a man’s marriage proposal

Television actress Malvi Malhotra who was last seen in the show Udaan, has starred in a few regional movies as well. The actress suffered a knife attack near her house in Versova on Monday night. Even though she is stable now, she was stabbed thrice by a man whose marriage proposal she refused.

An FIR has been filed against the accused Kumar Mahipal Singh who approached her under her residential building asking her to marry him and when she refused, he attacked her with a knife in her stomach, right wrist, and left arm. There has been no action taken against the accused who approached her in his Audi and had been asking her to marry him for quite some time now. The actress was rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital and is in stable condition now.

The FIR against the accused has been filed in Versova Police Station as per the latest reports.

Karan Johar led Dharma Productions issued showcause notice for littering in Goa during shoot of Deepika Padukone's next

The recent past has not been rather kind to the film industry, with film production grinding to a halt. It is only now that shooting has resumed. Though the shoot of films has resumed, albeit on a rather low key, we hear that the Karan Johar led production house Dharma Production has run into some turbulence. In fact, reports state that the Entertainment Society of Goa has issued a showcause notice to Dharma for apparently littering a location where they were shooting.

This notice comes after a resident of Nerul, in Goa, complained that the Dharma Production crew disposed off garbage, which included biomedical waste, in a haphazard manner along the streets where they were shooting. As per a complaint by Lokhancho Ekvott Goa, a movement to save heritage sites in Goa, the shoot in question was being helmed by Shakun Batra with Deepika Padukone starring in the film. Criticizing the improper disposal of waste by the production crew, the complaint drew attention to the Directorate of Health Services that stated that in light of Covid-19, medical waste needed to be incinerated.

As for seeking redressal from Dharma Productions, Lokhancho Ekvott Goa has demanded a written apology from Karan Johar within the next 48 hours. Failing this, the movement has claimed that parcels of the garbage would be couriered to both Dharma Productions office as well as Karan Johar’s residence.

Jennifer Lopez and Armie Hammer to star in action-comedy Shotgun Wedding, Ryan Reynolds to serve as executive producer

Actors Jennifer Lopez and Armie Hammer are coming together to star in an upcoming action-comedy titled, Shotgun Wedding. The film will be helmed by Jason Moore and the screenplay will be from Mark Hammer and Liz Meriwether.

According to Deadline, "The film follows Darcy (Lopez) and Tom (Hammer), who gather their lovable but very opinionated families for the ultimate destination wedding just as the couple begins to get cold feet. And if that wasn’t enough of a threat to the celebration, suddenly everyone’s lives are in danger when the entire party is taken, hostage."

The film will roll early next year. Along with George Dewey, Ryan Reynolds is executive producing the film. James Myers and Scott O’Brien will oversee the production for Lionsgate.

Netflix is developing Assassin’s Creed live-action series

Netflix is developing an Assassin’s Creed live-action series. The video game company Ubisoft's Jason Altman and Danielle Kreinik will serve as executive producers.

“For more than 10 years, millions of fans around the world have helped shape the ‘Assassin’s Creed’ brand into an iconic franchise,” said Altman told Variety. “We’re thrilled to create an ‘Assassin’s Creed’ series with Netflix and we look forward to developing the next saga in the ‘Assassin’s Creed’ universe.”

Assassin's Creed is an action-adventure video game that was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November 2007 and was made available on Microsoft Windows in April 2008. A film was made starring Michael Fassbender in 2016.

Rhea Chakraborty asks Bombay High Court to not quash case against Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters for procuring medicines illegally

After being arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) for drug charges, Rhea Chakraborty received bail earlier this month. There are multiple investigations happening against the actress in relation to the untimely death of her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput. The actress has asked the Bombay High Court to not quash the case against Sushant’s sisters Priyanka and Meetu. The sisters have asked Bombay HC to dismiss the case and appealed to the court to ask CBI to not take steps against them.

Six days before his death, Sushant Singh Rajput’s sisters allegedly procured medicines that are banned under the Narcotics and Psychotropic Substance. According to the WhatsApp texts exchange between Sushant and his sister, Priyanka Singh had reportedly advised him to take Librium, Mexito and Lonazep that are prescribed for anxiety and depression. The petition revealed that Dr. Tarun Kumar readily prescribed the medicine without having any prior knowledge of Sushant’s condition and mental health. "It is unfathomable that a Medical Practitioner would treat a patient with severe anxiety and other mental health issues without any consultation," the petition by Rhea Chakraborty read, as per NDTV report.

The case will be heard by the Division Bench of Justices SS Shinde and MS Karnik on November 4.

Anurag Kashyap ready to take optimum legal action against accuser

A lot of the anxious bystanders who have been watching the drama between Anurag Kashyap and his accuser (accusing him of sexual misdemeanour) unfold are wondering why the filmmaker has been so quiet lately. Now it can be told. Kashyap is gearing up for a long and conclusive legal battle with his accuser. Kashyap and his team of lawyers are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that Kashyap’s case is fully fool proof before it goes into court.

A close friend of the filmmaker reveals, “When Anurag is very still it can only mean he’s dedicated to the task on hand. Proving his innocence, not by pleading innocence in court but by presenting hard cold facts to back his claim, is going to be his modus operandi in court.”

We have it from very reliable sources that Kashyap has gleaned sufficient evidence to prove his innocence. We can only hope for the sake of the accuser that she has ample evidence to back up her accusations.

Anurag Kashyap is not worried for his own wellbeing. He is worried about the stress that his family is going through. As a close friend of Anurag told this writer, “He is not worried for himself. But it distresses him that his family is very worried. Anurag says it’s not about him. It’s about his reputation. It’s about standing up for everything that he has stood for. Anurag comes from a family of strong individualistic women. Respecting women for what they are comes naturally to him.”

Anurag wants to see this fight to prove his innocence to its logical conclusion. “He wants to pursue the case right to its logical conclusion. Because the accusation challenges everything that he has stood for all his life. For years Anurag has been perceived as a fiercely defiant feminist filmmaker. He can’t let his reputation be squandered by a lie. He will fight and fight until he gets justice.”

Get ready for the long battle ahead.
