Bigg Boss 20 contestant Kushal Tanwar, popularly known as Gullu, opened up about a difficult chapter in his personal life during an emotional conversation with fellow contestant Qazi Touqeer. Gullu revealed that he divorced in 2024, just four to five months after getting married.

The revelation came up while the two contestants discussed Gullu’s journey through reality shows. Qazi was surprised to learn that Gullu had been married and asked him whether the marriage happened before or after his reality television stint.

Gullu replied, "I got divorced in 2024. It was a very depressing phase. I was married for 4-5 months. Everyone thought it was wrong, and I kept trying, but then I understood it wasn't working. On our side, marriages happen early, and I had to marry because of my family." Kushal Tanwar aka Gullu opens up about divorce and family pressure Gullu explained that the marriage had taken place amid family expectations. He said he initially continued trying to make the relationship work, but eventually realised that it was not working out.

Despite the difficult period, Gullu said he tried to look ahead and focus on his career. Recalling his mindset at the time, he said, "Nothing can go worse than this; now, life will give me better moving forward from this. And I just decided to focus on my work."

The reality show contestant also revealed that his divorce proceedings were taking place while he was shooting for Roadies. According to Gullu, the situation became more difficult after pictures from his wedding surfaced online.

“I thought it was a game over for me” Speaking about the period, Gullu told Qazi, "I was in Goa with the Roadies gang, and someone leaked out images. I thought it was a game over for me. I didn't know what to do."

Qazi then asked Gullu about the duration of the legal proceedings and whether his family supported him during the period. Gullu revealed that his decision to seek a divorce was not supported by his family initially. He said, "There was a fight in which I wanted divorce and my family was against it. My family members had cut me off completely at that time. All of this took a year to settle these matters. It took a toll on me but I am finally out of all of this."

Gullu's latest revelation also brings renewed attention to the controversy surrounding his wedding pictures. When images purportedly showing him at his wedding had previously surfaced online, he had addressed the claims and called the pictures fake.

Droupadi Murmu urges celebs against harmful endorsements amid Vimal Elaichi Ad row: “A true star is the one who spreads light, not darkness”

President Droupadi Murmu has urged film celebrities to be more mindful of the products they endorse, particularly those that could have harmful effects on public health. Addressing the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony in Gujarat on Tuesday, September 22, she highlighted the influence popular artists have on children and young people and encouraged them to promote healthier lifestyles.

The 72nd National Film Awards, which recognised achievements in Indian cinema for 2024, were presented by Murmu at Ekta Nagar, Kevadia. The ceremony brought together several leading names from the Indian film industry. The awards were held outside New Delhi this year, marking a departure from the recent tradition of hosting the event at Vigyan Bhawan. Droupadi Murmu on celebrity influence Speaking about the reach of film personalities, Murmu pointed out that successful artists can have a strong impact on the choices and habits of younger audiences. She said, "When successful artists speak about the benefits of a disciplined lifestyle, millions of children and young people emulate them. I urge popular artists not to endorse products that are harmful to people's health. A true star is the one who spreads light, not darkness," Murmu said.

The President also urged the film fraternity to ensure that workers, assistants, small-scale artists and those trying to establish themselves in the industry receive respect and social security. Murmu also called for greater representation of women on juries responsible for selecting films for the National Film Awards. She said, "I would like to see women's participation ensured in every regional jury."

She further said, "Incorporating the female perspective in any field makes it possible to form a holistic human outlook." Murmu's remarks come amid Vimal Elaichi ad row The President's comments on celebrity endorsements come days after the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration issued show-cause notices to Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff over their association with a Vimal Elaichi advertisement.

The Maharashtra FDA has alleged that the campaign could amount to indirect or surrogate promotion of Vimal Pan Masala, a product prohibited in the state. The notices sought explanations from the actors regarding their participation in the campaign.

The matter has also reached the courts. The Delhi High Court dismissed a petition by PB Agro LLP challenging the Maharashtra FDA's notices, which were issued over the alleged surrogate promotion of pan masala through the Vimal Elaichi campaign.

The Paradise Mumbai press meet: Nani BREAKS silence on receiving ‘A’ rating: “Our film doesn’t have violence for the sake of violence…you can watch this film with your families, parents”

Nani, Sonali Kulkarni, Raghav Juyal and Kayadu Lohar attended the press meet of The Paradise in Mumbai. On September 21, it came to light that the action entertainer was passed by an ‘A’ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Nani was asked about it and he explained the rationale behind the rating.

Nani said, “Of course, when your film has received an ‘A’ certificate, you’ll miss out on kids and a chunk of moviegoers. But I also understand where it's all coming from. There’s a lot of violence in The Paradise.”

He continued, “There are some films, which are fully focused on violence and have violence for the sake of violence. The Paradise is not like that. Our film is a solid drama. It’s an emotional, commercial film and everybody will relate to it very well, regardless of the age group. Even families can come and watch it. You can go with your parents and watch it. You’ll enjoy it completely. But children can’t view the film because there’s a lot of violence.”

Nani further stated, “Everything that happens in the film is what we see around and what we can relate to. There’s drama, emotions and a love story; that is, everything which films, in general, have. But the violence portions are a little higher than other films.”

Did the makers try to secure a U/A rating? Nani replied, “No. We were prepared while shooting itself that we would receive an adult rating.”

The Paradise releases in cinemas on September 24.

The censor cuts

The makers were asked to replace alternate visuals of crow on National Flag. The visuals of a pregnant woman in the beginning were asked to be modified. A foul word was allowed in one place and muted in the rest of the scenes. A scene of a character having a tattoo with a foul word was covered with CGI. The word 'denotified tribe' was asked to be deleted.

The duration of violent stabbing visuals was reduced. In fact, ten other violent scenes replete with torture and blood spills were removed. In three places, words on armed struggle against the country were modified or muted. A reference to a real-life assassination and historical event was muted. Similarly, a reference to a real-life cigarette brand was asked to be censored.

EXCLUSIVE: Ajay Devgn-Rohit Jugraj’s horror thriller titled Suryasparsh

Ajay Devgn's horror thriller with Rohit Jugraj has locked its title. While early reports had circulated Griha Pravesh as the working title, Bollywood Hungama has exclusively learned that the film has officially been titled Suryasparsh.

Devgn plays a supernatural, morally ambiguous character in this high-concept story inspired by Veda Vyasa’s book Garuda Puran, a Sanskrit text comprising a dialogue between Lord Vishnu and Garuda, the King of Birds. The title Suryasparsh sounds catchy and intriguing and aptly signals an eerie world and deepening atmosphere of mystery and dread.

The film went on floors on September 2 and will be shot through November, targeting a theatrical release in the second half of 2027. Kumar Mangat and Abhishek Pathak of Panorama Studios are producing in partnership with Ajay's Devgn Films, extending their years-long association that has yielded successful films such as Drishyam, Raid and Shaitaan. Their upcoming project includes Drishyam: The Conclusion, the final chapter of their beloved family thriller franchise, slated to release in theatres on October 2.

Directed by Rohit Jugraj, who previously assisted on Ram Gopal Varma's Ajay Devgn-starrer horror film Bhoot (2003), and has since directed films such as the Sardaarji franchise and streaming shows like Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein and Chamak, Suryasparsh promises to draw audiences into a haunting new world of mystery, fear and suspense.

“Its suspense comes not from spectacle, but from the questions it raises and the unease it quietly builds,” producer Abhishek Pathak said in a statement issued during the announcement of the film earlier this month. “With Ajay Devgn as actor and producer, the project gained an added creative dimension, while Rohit Jugraj was the right filmmaker to bring this haunting material to life. I’m delighted that Panorama Studios is backing this film and continuing our association with Devgn Films.”

Veteran actor Radha files complaint against sister Ambika and brother over alleged Rs 50 crores cheque fraud

Veteran actor Udayachandrika, popularly known as Radha, has filed a police complaint against her sister and actress Ambika Nair and their brother, Mallikarjuna Kunjan Nair, also known as Arjun Nair. In her complaint, Radha has alleged that the siblings conspired to take and misuse old cheques belonging to her and attempted to defraud her of nearly Rs 50 crores.

According to news agency PTI, Radha submitted a detailed petition to the Greater Chennai Police Commissioner on Monday. She stated that she received an email alert from the IDBI Bank branch in Porur on September 17 informing her that five high-value cheques had been presented for encashment in Ambika's name. The cheques were reportedly for Rs 11 lakh, Rs 13.17 crores, Rs 27.73 crores, Rs 7 crores and Rs 1.79 crores.

After receiving the alert, Radha immediately requested the bank to stop the payments. She maintained that there had been no financial transaction or legally enforceable debt between her and Ambika that would justify the cheque payments.

Radha has further alleged that the cheques were filled in the handwriting of their brother, Mallikarjuna. In her complaint, she also claimed that Mallikarjuna is facing financial liabilities related to proceedings under the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA), 1999, and alleged that he is under pressure to pay a penalty following a 2025 FEMA case before the Madras High Court.

The actor has accused her siblings of "trespassing" into her room and taking the cheques with the alleged intention of using them for their financial requirements. She stated that the cheques were part of a 50-leaf cheque book issued in 2022 for her business, which was then operating under the name ARS Garden Studio.

Radha said the business name was officially changed to RR Gardens under GST regulations in January 2025, after which she obtained a new cheque book. As a result, she considered the older cheques invalid and had kept them aside as scrap in her room.

Radha also stated that because of her frequent business travel, she kept five or six signed blank cheques in her room for routine maintenance expenses and salary payments during her absence.

According to the complaint, Radha lives on the ground floor of her Valasaravakkam residence, where Ambika also resides and had access to her portion of the house based on their relationship and trust.

Radha has further alleged that she is now being prevented from checking her valuables and important documents kept in the same room, including gold and diamond ornaments and property papers. She has requested the police to investigate the alleged conspiracy and take criminal action against her siblings under the applicable provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The allegations are part of Radha's complaint and will be subject to police investigation.

Indian Festival of Perth to debut in November 2026, showcase 30+ films across Indian and South Asian languages; details inside!

Indian cinema is set to make its mark in Western Australia with the announcement of the inaugural Indian Festival of Perth, taking place across multiple locations in Perth from November 12 to November 15, 2026. The four-day festival is the latest expansion of the team behind the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) and the Indian Film Festival of Sydney (IFFS), two established celebrations of Indian cinema in Australia. The Perth edition marks the team’s expansion into a third major Australian city, bringing the diversity of Indian and South Asian cinema to audiences in Western Australia for the very first time.

The special announcement was made during Western Australian Premier Roger Cook’s visit to India, where he announced the inaugural festival during his keynote address, highlighting the growing cultural and creative ties between India and Western Australia.

The inaugural edition will showcase more than 30 films across Indian and South Asian languages, offering audiences an opportunity to discover stories and filmmakers from across the subcontinent.

Announcing the festival, Western Australian Premier Roger Cook said, “I am pleased to announce the inaugural Indian Festival of Perth, which will take place across multiple locations in Perth from November 12th to November 15th this year. The festival will showcase more than 30 films across Indian and South Asian languages. And the inaugural festival will welcome a select group of celebrated Indian Filmmakers who will get to witness Western Australian hospitality and visit Perth Film Studio".

Mitu Bhowmick Lange, who is behind both the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and Indian Film Festival of Sydney, said, “We are incredibly excited to bring Indian cinema to Perth for the very first time. The launch of the Indian Festival of Perth is a natural extension of what we have been building across Melbourne and Sydney, and it is wonderful to now create a platform for audiences in Western Australia to experience the incredible diversity of Indian and South Asian cinema. The Vvaan makers acquire sync rights after Sargam Vaish’s copyright claim over ‘Aigiri Nandini’

The makers of The Vvaan: Force Of The Forrest have acquired the sync rights to a recording of ‘Aigiri Nandini’ after musician Sargam Vaish alleged that his master recording was used in the film’s trailer without his permission.

Vaish had raised the issue on September 20, when he took to Instagram and claimed that a recording of ‘Aigiri Nandini’ created by him had been used in the trailer of the Sidharth Malhotra-starrer without obtaining his consent. The recording, according to Vaish, was originally created for a Ram Gopal Varma film, and he holds the master rights to it. Balaji Motion Pictures legal team meets musician Within 24 hours of Vaish publicly raising the issue, Balaji Motion Pictures’ legal team met with the musician. Vaish told Mid-Day that executives and lawyers from Ektaa R Kapoor’s production house met him on the evening of September 21 and subsequently acquired the sync rights for the recording.

Speaking about the meeting, Vaish said, “Balaji’s executives and lawyers have been cooperative. We met them today; they were kind and apologetic, even though they didn’t cause [the leak]. They are taking the sync rights for the track. I am grateful for the fact that we were able to resolve it so smoothly.” Sargam Vaish says he was not approached for permission Vaish recalled being surprised when he heard his version of Aigiri Nandini in the trailer of the Deepak Kumar Mishra-directed feature. “This is the version I had created for Ram Gopal Varma’s film. I own the master rights. No one had approached me for an NOC or permission,” he said. Source of recording leak remains unknown While the sync rights have now been acquired, Vaish said that he and the concerned parties are still trying to determine how his recording reached the Vvaan team in the first place. “The source of the leak is not known to us yet. We are trying to trace how this happened,” he added.

The Vvaan: Force Of The Forrest stars Sidharth Malhotra in the lead and is directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra. The film is backed by Balaji Motion Pictures and is scheduled to release on September 25.
