The much-awaited films, Aamir Khan-starrer Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar-starrer Raksha Bandhan, have finally been released today and as expected, there’s tremendous excitement for it. Both movies have several surprises, including the opening disclaimers.

Laal Singh Chaddha mentions a record 18 filmmakers under ‘Special Thanks’; Raksha Bandhan makers give a lovely shoutout to Sooraj Barjatya in the opening disclaimer

When it comes to Laal Singh Chaddha, the disclaimers and opening logos take up nearly five minutes of runtime. However, it’s heartening to see the makers thanking the state governments and police departments of the various states and union territories where the film has been filmed.

Then in one ‘Special Thanks’ slate, a record 20 names have been mentioned. Out of these, 18 are of popular directors and producers like A R Murugadoss, Aditya Chopra, Ashutosh Gowariker, Allu Aravind, Bhushan Kumar, Boney Kapoor, Farhan Akhtar, G K Mohan, Kumar Taurani, Mani Ratnam, Madhu Mantena, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, Ramesh Taurani, Ram Gopal Varma, Ratan Jain, Ritesh Sidhwani, R S Prasanna and Vashu Bhagnani.

The other two names are that of the music company, Sony Music India, and actor Vijay Maurya, who has a cameo. Shah Rukh Khan has also been thanked but separately. The superstar has an entertaining special appearance in the film.

Most of the filmmakers have been thanked probably as they have lent the footage of their films in Laal Singh Chaddha. Interestingly, R S Prasanna has been mentioned under ‘Special Thanks’ too. He had directed Ayushmann Khurrana starrer Shubh Mangal Savdhan (2017) and reportedly is working on the remake of the 2018 Spanish classic, Campeones. Aamir Khan, as per reports, is interested to do the film.

As for Raksha Bandhan, the opening disclaimers are rather short. A special thank you is given to blockbuster filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya. The slate says, 'Thank you Sooraj Barjartya for keeping alive the tradition of family films'.

He is known for making memorable films like Hum Aapke Hain Koun (1994), Hum Saath Saath Hain (1999), Vivah (2016), etc. Raksha Bandhan is also in a similar space and director Aanand L Rai has revealed in media interactions that he’s a fan of his films. He also said that he felt the need to make a family entertainer since there hasn’t been one such film in a long time.
