Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has expanded his property portfolio with the purchase of three office units totalling Rs 59.58 crores in Mumbai. The offices in the prestigious Signature Building on Veera Desai Road, Andheri, highlight the actor’s substantial investment in commercial real estate.
Details of the Purchase The office units, numbered 2701, 2801, and 2901, span a combined area of 8,429 sq ft. The deal, finalised with Veer Savarkar Projects Pvt Ltd, also includes three car parking spaces. Documents accessed by FloorTap.com reveal that Bachchan paid a stamp duty of Rs 3.57 crore, and the transaction was officially registered on June 20, 2024. Recent Real Estate Ventures This acquisition adds to Bachchan's series of high-value property investments this year. Earlier in 2024, he purchased land worth Rs 10 crores in Alibaug and reportedly acquired another parcel in Ayodhya for Rs 14.5 crores.
Meanwhile, his son, Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan, has also been active in the real estate market. Abhishek recently purchased six apartments in the Oberoi Sky City project in Borivali for Rs 15.42 crores. The apartments, located on the 57th floor, cover a total area of 4,894 sq ft and come with 10 car parking spaces. This transaction, finalised on May 28, 2024, reflects the premium pricing of Rs 31,498 per sq ft for properties in one of Mumbai's prime suburbs. Amitabh Bachchan’s Upcoming Projects On the professional front, Amitabh Bachchan is preparing for the release of his highly anticipated film, Kalki 2898 AD. The film, directed by Nag Ashwin, also stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani. It is set to hit theatres on June 27, 2024.
